Just that really.

Shock election result. I have a couple of BtLs and earn within that bracket so not particularly high but live in London. I have a ball of tension in my stomach at the thought of Corbyn and all the uncertainty of a hung parliament.

Anyone else scared? Or is the whole of MN rejoicing?

Try the uncertainty of being disabled and being declared fit to work. Or the uncertainty of having your hours cut. Or the uncertainty of having to use a food bank. Or having to decide whether to keep bus fare for work or putting electricity in the meter. That's uncertainty. That's unsettling. Unreal

I'm genuinely scared by the uncertainty. I'm scared interest rates will rise affecting my mortgages.
Perhaps you should of thought of that before you took on more debt than you could realistically manage.

It's the uncertainty and the potential for tax rises and the land tax.
Well, I'm sure you can flog your BtLs if it's causing you so much stress and worry. You could even move into rented accommodation, what with all those potential increased rights and all.

As a household we fall into the 80k+ earning bracket and have a btl property.

Both my husband and I voted Labour as we value the social welfare this country provides, our police, NHS, roads, schools and social mobility. We're happy to pay more for the privilege of living in a fairer society where the disadvantaged, poor and disabled don't get shat on.

I understand basing a voting decision on your income if you're on the breadline but in all honesty if you're doing well why wouldn't you want to give others a helping hand?

I'm worried. But I'm worried that the Conservatives are still in government. I'd much rather pay higher taxes and have good public healthcare, transport, education and housing and that people in need be cared for. And human rights, and investment in the arts and scientific research, and strong workers' rights, and health and safety legislation, and access to justice for everyone.
