I don't know who to vote for Sad.

I usually vote for labour but there's some polices I don't agree with and the conservatives are no better. Between the two, I wouldn't vote for either of them.

Am I alone in this ?

I would prefer no fees for shortage courses, and things like nursing, medicine etc where you agree to work for the NHS for x years like you do when the RAF teach you to fly a plane.

It's ridiculous to offer free courses in anything, your just going to get universities offering poor quality courses because it's a cash cow for them.

Why not submit a protest vote? Put 'NONE OF THE ABOVE' on your ballot paper. This is what I am doing.

I am really not fond of this 'women died to give you the right to vote' spin. Women died to give us the CHOICE to vote.' It's a choice. Nobody should be forced to vote for a person or a party that they don't believe in.

Justdontgetitatall · 08/06/2017 00:21

Please please please please please pleeeeeeease Don't vote for Conservative!!

They are destroying Disabled people's lives! And making NHS staff's work life miserable.

Cuts cuts cuts cuts! As a direct result of the conservative government, my 2yr old & I are struggling to survive right now. I will literally be DEVASTATED if Conservative get in again

user1493759849 "Nobody should be forced to vote for a person or a party that they don't believe in."

of course not, but once the election is over a party/parties will be in. If you do not vote you cannot really complain about what happens.

"Put 'NONE OF THE ABOVE' on your ballot paper." What good will that do? Who will run the country. If you really have no confidence in the parties then stand for election or support an individual who you do support.

milliemolliemou · 08/06/2017 00:30

Problem is that at least 300 of the 650 seats are safe seats for whichever party which makes a lot of us reluctant to vote. I'm in one of them and will be voting. Whether it's none of the above or for the leading challenger ... worth shaking up the complacent sitting MP.

Lionking1981 · 08/06/2017 00:35

Are you happy with the way things are? Do you agree with the current government's austerity measures? If not, you do need to vote to try to change things for the better.

In my area, a vote for the lib dems splits the left vote and ensures a Tory win so I vote labour.

BoldKitties · 08/06/2017 00:39

Please vote. I mean, it's none of my business, as I'm not in the UK. Though I have been following the run up to this election with great interest, as I have lots of family and friends there. And I know how I personally would like this election to go for the benefit of my family and friends. I won't go in to that though because being from elsewhere I of course don't get a say. And it's not really relevant.

And I know what it's like to feel like you're choosing from a gaggle of gobshites. The last GE here (in Ireland) I was so, so conflicted. I'd voted Labour since I was old enough to vote. Was an active member of the Labour party, and had actively campaigned for my local Labour candidate in the previous GE (and was fairly instrumental in helping him secure his seat as a TD). Last time around, I didn't know what to do. Was completely disillusioned with my sitting TD and the Labour party in general. Their manifesto aligned pretty closely with my views, though their weak stance on the 8th infuriated me. Sinn Fein had the manifesto that most closely aligned with my views. On almost every issue, in fact. But I have never and will never vote Sinn Fein. Or at least, not as long as Gerry Adams is still there. Then Fianna Fail and Fine Gael are far too right wing for me. I considered AAA-PBP (as they were called then) but ruled them out on the basis that I disagreed with their Euroscepticism, stance on a United Ireland, and, well, many other things.

I've never stood in a ballot box and hesitated, but that time I did. And it was horrible. I have always been secure in my decision making but this time I felt like I was choosing from the lesser of eejits. But I still voted, and chose the least bad option.

Decisions are made by those who show up.

And I'm going to sound so annoying and preach-y, but to me, voting isn't just a right, it's a responsibility.

gluteustothemaximus · 08/06/2017 00:57

This made me want to vote. You can make a difference.

To not vote tomorrow ?
QuintessentialShadow · 08/06/2017 07:48

I read this this morning And found it quite interesting.

Zaberwocky · 08/06/2017 07:51

Please vote!

I can't this year and I'm incredibly annoyed about it.

PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 08/06/2017 07:54

Vote for who you hate least.
I don't agree with all of labours policies but they are the lesser of the two evils for me

Singyourheartout · 08/06/2017 12:49

I agree! I'm a student and I just don't see how the state will pay for it! I honestly would love free tuition as I have have to work long hours to help pay for uni as my parent can't help and I get the full grants and still struggle. And the land tax makes no sense.

ExplodedCloud · 08/06/2017 12:53

Right sing that makes a lot of sense... You won't vote Labour based on a spurious interpretation of one phrase in a manifesto and because they might do something you'd like but believe another party's austerity lie.

Underparmummy · 08/06/2017 12:54

Vote for who you want - and it definitely doesn't have to be red or blue.

Tactical voting makes me a bit sad.

Singyourheartout · 08/06/2017 12:57

Hold on cloud! I never said I wasn't vote for! I am not judging them one one thing I just commented about it. I have looked at all the maifestos and am voting for who I think is best

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 08/06/2017 12:58

You can always spoil as well as if you don't want to vote for any of the muppets.

pigsDOfly · 08/06/2017 13:18

I've spoken to a few, very well informed people, who have told me they're not going to vote. The trouble is that achieves absolutely nothing.

And what would be the point of going to the trouble of going to the polling station and spoiling the paper Tomorrow; that's not going to really help change anything is it?.

I think this election is too important to abstain. Personally I'll be voting for the party whose policies I dislike the least. I rather suspect a lot of voters will be doing that today.

ExplodedCloud · 08/06/2017 13:44

Sorry sing! I just keep seeing 'Oh I like what is in the manifesto but we can't possibly have all that, so I can't vote for them'.
