AIBU to want to send A&E staff a thank you present?

We had the misfortune to have to visit A&E on Sunday with our toddler.

Do you think it's appropriate to send the staff a thank you present? And if so, chocolates, biscuits? Or is this OTT?

He's on the mend now thankfully, but the staff were amazing with him and so kind to us so I'd like to acknowledge it in some way. Thoughts?

One of the best things a relative turned up with was a full take away pizza, sides the lot. On a night shift. Just amazing.

I submitted a 5 star review after excellent treatment from a smallish hospital, but they wouldn't put up the names of the two staff I identified as particularly amazing, just the ward name. I wish I'd read this thread and thought to thank them through a card as well.

This has spurred me on to write a thank you to my Hospital team! I have bipolar disorder and sometimes require psychiatric hospitalization. My last team was really lovely, and really helped my recovery. I will make sure to send flowers:-)

Do it! I wrote a letter of thanks and brought in cakes for the paramedics and the A&E staff who sorted DD1 out after a seizure a few year ago. The manager of the trust wrote back to me, saying how much they valued the positive feedback and how good it was for morale. I was so glad I took the time.

I work in a and e and we love it when people pop in with a card or biscuits / chocolates. People are so quick to complain, they've waited 4 hours to be seen for their 3 month old sore throat or their 4 year back pain etcetera, but it's rare to hear a thank you and we really do appreciate it
