If you wake up and are still under conservative rule?

Not goady, just genuinely interested in how you intend to make life better for yourself and those around you

Book a long weekend in Barbados to celebrate not getting taxed another few hundred thousand on my business earnings. Thanks, voters of England!

YEP - Me too

1DAD2KIDS · 07/06/2017 14:15

Get up, do breakfast, take the kids to school. What do you expect me to do?

Exactly what I would do if Labour win. A bit of a silly question I think.

Toptrumps20 · 07/06/2017 14:17

spot on Mamahanji .It will be fun watching Theresa (couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery May) trying to negotiate .Brexit though.Grin

Boopboopboop · 07/06/2017 14:18

What a goady fucking post.

hottotrotsky · 07/06/2017 14:18

MrsLupo if I were you I'd put that Champers on ice. Just in case.

SerfTerf · 07/06/2017 14:19

Feel a bit depressed but we'd manage. We survived the eighties, after all.

And there would be a nice Labour leadership rejig to absorb our attention.

SerfTerf · 07/06/2017 14:24

think everyone is an idiot

When did this fashion for insulting the electorate's intelligence start? The referendum? Or the last GE? It feels like a relatively new thing but I can't really remember.

Very clever people hold wildly differing opinions all the time (and throughout history). Even really abhorrent views are clearly not caused by lack of intelligence. There are so many obvious examples of this.

greenlavender · 07/06/2017 14:27

It is goady though isn't it, as this election is so unpredictable? What if you're a Tory & you wake up to find your majority wiped out? An SNP supporter & find you've peaked? A Lib Dem with no gains? A Green / UKIP/ Plaid Cymru with no seats .... Anything could happen.

MamaHanji · 07/06/2017 14:28

Oh and wonder when the first gulag will be built after Theresa May 'rips up' the human rights act. Goodbye freedom of religion. Goodbye freedom from discrimination and torture. Goodbye sanity.

ginghambox · 07/06/2017 14:29

They will be on here calling the Tory voters selfish cunts, just like in 2015.

MrsLupo · 07/06/2017 14:30

Did that for the referendum trotsky, there's only so much cooling down and warming up it can take! Win or lose, I'll happy pop it open if Amber Rudd loses her seat, though, or my own useless Tory MP. One or two lovely Portillo moments would go a long way to lifting spirits on a sleepless night. Smile

Spudlet · 07/06/2017 14:31

Flump Aye well, perhaps a fair comment. Although my Dbro has a genetic condition that is quite controllable with a lot of expensive medication, but untreated would lead to an unpleasant death and I don't know if I carry it, so the existence of the NHS is something that interests me rather a lot. I hope that isn't the case for you.

The op asked for immediate reactions, and that would be mine. Then I'd do what I do, and crack the fuck on. Sorry if that offends you. Smile

BlueKarou · 07/06/2017 14:31

Probably wake up, feel a bit dejected, maybe have a little cry, hug my little boy and apologise to him that this was not the time we managed to change the country, but that we made a bloody good go of it and showed the country that there is an alternative to the status quo.

Then I'll probably have to cut out what little remaining 'luxuries' I have, and start squirreling away as much money as I can. Life's pretty tough right now and it's only going to get worse if we remain under a Tory Government. Just generally do what I can to protect myself against further Tory cuts.

GretchenFranklin · 07/06/2017 14:37

Anyway it's all hypothetical because actually Labour are going to WIN

20nil · 07/06/2017 14:42

Do you really believe that? There's no evidence for it at all.

SerfTerf · 07/06/2017 14:43

But I also have a bottle of Champagne in the cupboard.

Warm champagne is horrible.

Get it in the fridge Smile

BadTasteFlump · 07/06/2017 14:46

Spudlet I'm not offended - and I'm sorry for anybody's illnesses/conditions.

My point is, I just don't think anything will drastically change, whoever is in power. It never does.

I was listening to a debate on the radio recently where a Head Teachers Union and an NHS representative had been warning about the cuts and lack of funding for teaching and the NHS. But these warnings were being made about 15 years ago - when the Labour Party had been in power for five years.

YouWhatMate · 07/06/2017 14:47

YouWhatMate · 07/06/2017 14:47

There's no evidence for it at all.

There was no evidence for Brexit or Trump winning either though! ;)

KentSummer · 07/06/2017 14:49

"Warm champagne is horrible."

Warm or cold, I thought Leavers felt drinking champagne is unpatriotic.

BelligerentGardenPixies · 07/06/2017 14:49

Have a bit of a cry for all the folks that are going to get the really shitty end of the Tory stick (which quite possibly will include my own children).

Then I'll be glad that they have to clear up the clusterfuck of shit storms that Brexit will create. I'll also be glad of the mass shift in awareness about how our media operate amoungst even larger sections of society - it might have been enough this time but they will be hard pushed to keep doing the same underhand crap. I will be glad that finally there is a proper socialist party that is gaining momentum and I will pledge to work more in co-operative, grass roots movements that aim to make society fairer. I'll save more, spend less, find happiness in the sweetness of life...

Basically, pick myself up, dust myself down and get on with it. What other choice is there?

InvisibleKittenAttack · 07/06/2017 14:49

Surely what Labour supporting MNers will do is come on a thread where they discuss if Corbyn has to go or not and speculate about who will replace him?

Blame will be thrown round a lot and generally there's going to be sulking by the pro-Corbyn supporters while the anti-Corbyn labour supporters will be trying not to say "I told you so" and failing

Birdsbeesandtrees · 07/06/2017 14:54

Personally I will donate to the local food bank (which I do anyway Ailey often) and look forward to May having to deal with Brexit and a lot of people slowly realising it won't end well for them.

Birdsbeesandtrees · 07/06/2017 14:55

Fairly*

Leavers? Am I at the wrong vote?
