And if you are and still intend to vote, what will make up your mind in the next 24 hours?

cjt110 · 07/06/2017 09:55

I think, realistically, it's Tory vs Labour isnt it?

OP posts:
iffikitty · 07/06/2017 09:59

DA is currently "unwell", she hasn't gone.

specialsubject · 07/06/2017 10:05

Safe tory seat. Can't stand our idle mp so no vote there. Quite like the labour candidate but dont want corbyn to get my vote. Lib dem is a chinless wonder who doesnt seem to be campaigning. Green also very quiet, and won't vote for them.

Probably a none of the above again - spoilt paper, not no show. Just possibly lib dem as least worst.

OnnaNoHito · 07/06/2017 10:22

I really don't know what party to support, however I know that I want the SNP out of my area, and the one party that can achieve that here is Labour.

So I suppose I'll vote for Labour, although I don't see how they'll pay for their policies and doubt they'll be effective enough in regards to Brexit / world conflict.

I wish we had more options! Blush

Carollocking · 07/06/2017 10:27

I guess if non of the above won then it would have to be a new lot of voting with new candidates but as we know no way it would ever be allowed as were not allowed to really have a opinion and real choice In the country we live.

Babywontsleep12 · 07/06/2017 10:30

I'm really thinking of not voting which goes against everything I believe in. Voted lib dem last time but don't like their policies now. Hate the Tories cuts but think labour are incompetent.

teapotter · 07/06/2017 10:32

Still not 100% sure. Would be willing to vote for almost anyone to get the SNP out but seat predictors (yougov, electoral calculus - try them for your seat cjt110) say the opposition labour/Tory is too split to do much damage.

Probably going to vote lib dem even though it won't count this time, as I would like to see a lib dem revival one day.

Lottie991 · 07/06/2017 10:37

I have totally changed my mind after I watched corbyn and Theresa may being question by the public, I really used to dislike corbyn, But actually completely changed my mind, he is invested in our future a lot more providing the kids with education and to keep our NHS running, He also came across as a people person alot more, May was terrible the way she spoke down to the nurse who questioned her on the NHS saying she didn't have a magic money tree, Poor nurse looked like she was going to cry.
I will be voting for labour and I urge anyone to who wants a brighter future, If we loose the NHS we will be in trouble, We also need to give our children the education they deserve so they can contribute in the future to wards the running of the country.
We have no hope with May she has bare faced lied saying that there is nothing wrong with the NHS, My brother and many other nurses like him works all the way through his lunch break and is always at least half an hour late finishing his shift because they are so dangerously understaffed he works at least an hour a shift for free with not enough staff and not enough beds.
Please spend your vote wisely.
The NHS can't cope with another reign of the Tories.

brexitstolemyfuture · 07/06/2017 10:37

Me. I've never not voted but thinking about it.

But they all seem full of crap and without pr I can only vote for two parties.

Lottie991 · 07/06/2017 10:39

Labours manifesto is also costed, the Tories manifesto isn't.

Lottie991 · 07/06/2017 10:39

I really recommend people to watch the debate back who is undecided.

gallicgirl · 07/06/2017 10:42

voteforpolicies.org.uk is a fantastic tool for looking at the policies blind so you can make a decision without the influence of media and personalities.

I was quite dubious about Corbyn but I think his approach during the campaign has changed my mind. I think we're used to strong characters full of sound bites as PM, so someone who doesn't engage in aggressive politics is a bit of a mystery.

SimplyNigella · 07/06/2017 10:49

I am still undecided

I don't believe that Labour will raise as much money as they claim they will as the numbers just don't stack up and I think their policy of VAT on private school fees to fund school dinners is ridiculous, however I also disagree with much of the Tory manifesto.

Our local Lib Dems candidate is great but they have never managed more then a single digit percentage of the votes in this constituency, same with the Greens.

We are a hugely marginal seat, the press were all over us last time around waiting to see the result, so I know that if I vote for either Labour or Conservative then my vote will really count.

Lottie991 · 07/06/2017 10:50

I would also say to anyone not voting labour, Don't moan when the NHS is privatised and you have to pay a fortune for insurance which then doesn't cover you for everything.

FruitCider · 07/06/2017 10:52

As a nurse, all I would say is this.

I don't particularly care who you vote for. But if you care about your NHS, don't want it dismantled, and you appreciate health care that is free at the point of access.... please vote for anyone other than the conservatives.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 07/06/2017 10:53

I don't believe that Labour will raise as much money as they claim they will as the numbers just don't stack up

IFS have said they won't tbf.

cjt110 · 07/06/2017 11:00

gallicgirl That link is brilliant. Its shown me as being 50% for a party I would never have considered based on the party, not the policies.

OP posts:
TrueColors · 07/06/2017 11:01

Me. I'm a leftie. I will never vote Tory, even though I live in a safe seat area. However, I just cannot bring myself to vote for Corbyn. Hate all that he says and that he doesn't say but implies. I don't believe he really knows or understands what's going on in real world and in public services. It's all hot air and totally unachievable.

I don't want to not vote. I know it's important. I've never been this conflicted.

cjt110 · 07/06/2017 11:01

Sadly, the party who I appear to be 50% in favour of arent standing my my local election....

OP posts:
newmumwithquestions · 07/06/2017 11:13

I'd like to vote Labour or if we had PR I'd be tempted by Green. But the streets are paved with blue and Labour don't stand a chance.

Hey RangeTesKopeks do you fancy doing a vote swap? I'll vote Lib dem here as the best (albeit small) chance to get the Tories out - you vote Labour as the best chance to get the Tories out where you are. We both know our preferred parties are getting a vote?

LoonvanBoon · 07/06/2017 11:25

I'm still torn between Lib Dem and Labour but probably going to vote Lib Dem.

Both parties are fielding decent candidates in my constituency, but neither stands a chance as there's a huge Tory majority. In 2015 the Tories got more votes here than Labour, the Lib Dems and Greens put together, so realistically my vote doesn't count for much.

makeourfuture · 07/06/2017 11:28

IFS have said they won't tbf.

The IFS has an agenda.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 07/06/2017 11:33

I was torn up until TM announced the human rights thing this morning and now I'm 100% sure who I'll vote for.

FruitCider · 07/06/2017 11:37

I'm in a safe labour seat, happy to vote swap with someone who lives in a marginal seat - I'll vote for the party of your choice if you vote labour.

FlossieFrog · 07/06/2017 11:43

I'm struggling to decide. My constituency is rural and Conservatives have held it for ever with at least 50% of the vote. I would vote Lib Dem because I support their position on Brexit, however they have very little chance of getting many MPs into parliament. I voted LibDem in 2010, and was so disappointed by them being ruined by the Tory Coalition rather than getting credit for the good things they did in government. I agree with much of what the Labour Party stands for and have been impressed with what I've seen of Jeremy Corbyn through the election campaign. Ultimately, it probably makes no difference who I vote for as the Tories will hold the seat. I wish we had a more proportional voting system (eg AV, which I voted for in 2011).
