Due to travel to Spain for 2 weeks soon with DH and DD... Am really terrified of a terrorist attack at a tourist spot/beach , really feel like not going (at the loss of over 2k) and staying put where I feel safer..my DH wouldn't feel the same I really am afraid. Really hope there are no fatalaties in London tonight, Hope everyone is ok.

How can terrorism be completely eradicated? What do you suggest, Charlie? What about the thousands of people already damaged by the brainwashing and propaganda they've already been subjected to? Unless those people can be "fixed" somehow, we're going to continue to live with terrorist threats and attacks.

OP I understand your thoughts.
We went to South France just after Nice. It did not feel as relaxing as it should thinking about what might happen and seeing armed police on beaches, though this will not be case in Spain.

We went and we had a good hol but I understand your fears.

I am travelling to Spain in just over a month. To be honest it crosses my mind, but I have been many times and we all need a break.

I am going to go and make sure when I am there (know the area but differnt hotel) I have an emergency plan in place for us just in case.

It does frighten me but if we live in fear we will never live.

I suffer with anxiety and it's very easy to let it take hold.

Go and enjoy yourself

Every woman who works outside the home, everyone who drinks alcohol, everyone who eats pork/bacon etc, everyone who wears mid to short skirts is a target to the islamofascists. Those who are gay or transgender etc etc are seen as the enemy. If you do/are any of the above and you feel you can or should continue to do so and is proud of that fact is sending a giant "fuck you" to these and their ilk. No surrender.

I wont be avoiding anything or anywhere. I will live my life as normal. I will go abroad in two weeks and then again in six weeks. I will go to concerts, cities etc. It doesnt mean you dont feel a bit more fearful. Thats normal but i wont be giving in to it and not enjoying my life to the full as normal.

The UK has more attacks than Spain...

I'm off to New York in a few days, then Israel, followed by London.... I think you'll be fine.

Go and enjoy your holiday!

I was out in London last night and like thousands and thousands of other people out in London last night was never in any danger of being caught up in an attack.

You have to think of the probability of you just happening to be there at that precise moment an attack happens. It's so very remote.

I've had a few near misses with IRA attacks when I worked in London - it was frightening but I couldn't just stop going to work in case there was another one.

On the morning after the Manchester attack I was out walking. I walked past a cafe. Half an hour after I passed by , a driver lost control of his car and smashed into it. He ended up parked inside it and narrowly missed injuring the customers sitting inside. This incident just showed me how you can never predict when disaster or terror will strike.

You could cancel your holiday and be killed by a falling tree!
