Van hitting people, unsure if it is an accident reports of a knife.

Praying it's a hoax

Evie the I can and cannot believe this is happening is exactly what I said to my husband. Very scary.

Beerwench · 03/06/2017 23:11

Oh no. Just awful. Flowers to anyone involved, hope there's no one seriously hurt.

HelenaDove · 03/06/2017 23:13

Oh God no not again. For the love of Christ..........WHY.

BastardBloodAndSand · 03/06/2017 23:13

I don't understand why they announce what levels of security are in place. It's like saying come get me now !!

My thoughts are with all concerned, hopefully no one is badly hurt.

Starlighter · 03/06/2017 23:19

Stabbings and gunshots too. It sounds like a terrorist attack to me...

So fucking fed up with this mindless violence! Feel scared for the future Sad

Livelovebehappy · 03/06/2017 23:42

We are so helpless to stop this. How do you predict and prevent a random van ploughing into a street of pedestrians? We are in an impossible situation.

Butterymuffin · 03/06/2017 23:44

Higher threat level wouldn't have stopped this. And emergency services were there in 2 minutes so responded quickly. Just hope they can locate the attacker(s) asap.

OfaFrenchmind2 · 03/06/2017 23:47

Emergency services are heros. 2mn response is incredibly good.

LadySalmakia · 03/06/2017 23:48

It's not a hoax. I have a friend who lives in the market - they heard gunfire.

BeachyKeen · 03/06/2017 23:49

With as much surveillance as there is now, surely they will be able to find them/the van

innitprawn · 03/06/2017 23:50

Emergency services are amazing. These people our heroes. Cannot imagine if this was one of my own going to work every day for London Met.

God bless them

pieceofpurplesky · 03/06/2017 23:51

A friend was in a bar and they were made to lie on the floor before being escorted out of a fire door by armed police and told to run. He has just messaged to say he is ok.

Lemondrop99 · 03/06/2017 23:57

I don't see why lowering the security threat has any impact on this??

It's almost impossible for intelligent forces to pick up on a nutter/small group of nutters plotting an attack with legal and easily accessible weapons like vans and knifes. I have no idea how we're supposed to protect ourselves against this.

However I do think the media coverage doesn't help. I know why it's reported, but surely all this details just spurs other terrorists on? This sounds very much like a Westminster bridge copycat attack. Terrorists get to read all the details and must enjoy seeing it splashed everywhere in a live minute by minute account. It's attention they want and I don't think this all consuming media approach helps.

So sad. I hope nobody is seriously injured and they catch the bastards behind this.

Fidoandacupoftea · 04/06/2017 00:00

Saw pics of parents running with young kids on BBC. Angry, scared and so so sad

HelenaDove · 04/06/2017 00:01

Police have put out a statement saying there is more than one fatality.

HelenaDove · 04/06/2017 00:02

Also reports of two more incidents in Borough Market and Vauxhall.

Domino20 · 04/06/2017 00:03

I live off Borough High Street. I won't lie, shitting myself.

ThatWouldBeGreat · 04/06/2017 00:05

Don't worry Domino20 I'm sure you'll be fine.

HelenaDove · 04/06/2017 00:05

Domino Thanks

KeepCalm · 04/06/2017 00:06

Honest to god

Sky news: our camera man has been pushed quite some distance away so it seems apparent there is an active investigation going on.

What the actual fuck is wrong with these people trying to film it on their mobiles.

The emergency services have enough to do!!'

Littledrummergirl · 04/06/2017 00:07

Bloody reporters aren't helping the police "we have now been made to move more firmly, we have already been asked nicely to move"

Just fucking move so police can do police work not fucking crowd control!

This is so sad. Sad Fuckers.
Love to everyone involved.

EZA15 · 04/06/2017 00:07

Lemondrop I don't know why I never saw it like that but you have a very valid point. On the other hand, it's informing people isn't it - to be even more vigilant. It's horrible at the moment. Just fuckers - absolute fuckers

ThatWouldBeGreat · 04/06/2017 00:08

KeepCalm We now live in a time where people would rather record incidents rather than help the situation.

HelenaDove · 04/06/2017 00:08

Why dont they just fucking move the first time they are told.
