To wonder if anyone can explain why Theresa May is refusing to do any live interviews when she called this election?

As far as I can see TM called this GE because she arrogantly assumed she'd walk it.

Unfortunately for her JC has upped his game and every time someone poses a question to her she rattles off some soundbite starting with 'let me be clear...' and completely ignores he question.

Can anyone defend the fact that she wouldn't participate in the live tv debate and now won't do any radio interviews either?

Shouldn't we be able to expect more from a PM?

I'm practically nostalgic for Pigfucker Dave.

I never thought I'd say that.

Elendon · 02/06/2017 18:56

Tony Blair did the same in 2001. What are you talking about?

Can't think on her feet Well, that behoves great negotiations regarding Brexit.

She has nothing to gain She's still going to win though

The mind computes but comes up with the wrong answer. Two and two make four.

WrongTrouser · 02/06/2017 19:12

I must say I think the Labour Party has made a very impressive job of pretending that it hasn't spent the last two years tearing itself to shreds, and many people seem to have completely forgotten that most Labour MPs don't think Corbyn is fit to run the party, never mind the country. Strange times.

Dawndonnaagain · 02/06/2017 19:12

Corbyn's just challenged her to go head to head on Question Time this evening!

Guepe · 02/06/2017 19:14

I don't really understand this thread.

Theresa May has been quite explicit, on a number of occasions, that she won't so a head to head debate.

That means we can expect the debate to happen in the next few days.

Topseyt · 02/06/2017 19:16

I had thought she was going to do Question Time tonight!

Am I wrong again, or has she withdrawn at the last minute?

noblegiraffe · 02/06/2017 19:17

Guepe Grin

Topseyt · 02/06/2017 19:21

Guepe, yes. She will claim to have been "quite clear" on it when she performs that u turn.

Topseyt · 02/06/2017 19:23

Dawn Donna, sorry, just re-read a bit. He has challenged her to go head to head, as you said.

I bet she won't.

Everytimeref · 02/06/2017 19:48

Andrew Neil said that "The torys campaign has been awful and he is no Labour supporter.

MyOtherProfile · 02/06/2017 19:57

Still half an hour to go. Time yet for TM to pull out.

sodablackcurrant · 02/06/2017 20:09

Whether you are for or against TM, I think she is a lady under a lot of pressure right now.

That came from the fact that her arrogance is being chipped away since Corbyn took part in the debate.

Anyway, silence is not always golden. And not speaking/debating with your rivals to me is a sign of cowardice. And that is what the perception is now.

I do realise the Tories will win, but without the resounding majority they thought they would have.

Great going into Brexit innit. Maybe it is though!

I bet Jean Claude Junker is sniggering behind his glass(es) of claret at the moment.

Killdora · 02/06/2017 20:15

Am I reading it right?

Is she refusing to go on with Corbyn at the same time? What are they going to do? Switch seats during the break?

How ridiculous she looks.

ArtemisiaGentilleschi · 02/06/2017 20:23

I am actually almost feeling sorry for her. She looks as if she is about to have some sort of breakdown. Her body language is very telling.
Question arrives, followed first by frantic eye movements left and right, then really forced laughter accompanied by her head going backwards and the mouth grimace.

Then the "let me be clear" bit.

It's the most interesting final week in years.

christinarossetti · 02/06/2017 20:24

I wouldn't normally enjoy watching another human disintegrate, but tbh I'm quite enjoying this.

Her 'losing' 140 files linking MPs to child abuse was despicable enough for me.

christinarossetti · 02/06/2017 20:25

And the sip of water by buy time.

sodablackcurrant · 02/06/2017 20:31

Please, I am out and about, what program are we talking about here, has it started, what's happening, are they debating in the same studio.

Full info please!

MyOtherProfile · 02/06/2017 20:33

She's on a question time special now soda

sodablackcurrant · 02/06/2017 20:36

@MyOtherProfile

Thank you.

I am not able to watch it at the moment. And I can't get playback as I am not in BBC land either. GRRRRR. The frustration!

But hopefully the posts on here will fill in the gaps.

One question.... are they separate or together in the one studio?

PlinkyTheFairyWitch · 02/06/2017 20:40

Separate. Currently TM taking questions from the audience. Mainly about how she's not done any debates atm.

Killdora · 02/06/2017 20:42

Separate?!

And this is the 'strong' negotiator is it? Hmm

Can't get to the to yet. Depending on mn for catch ups until then. Is there a thread?

MyOtherProfile · 02/06/2017 20:44

So far all about Brexit and the will of the people.

MyOtherProfile · 02/06/2017 20:46

So far all about Brexit and the will of the people.

Arseofinfinity · 02/06/2017 20:46

Sigh.

I was hoping they get her in some of the NHS, disability, 'affordable housing' questions she feels so uncomfortable with.

I already know she can repeat 'string and stable brexit' and 'will of the people' until the world ends. I want to see her squirm Grin
