to not have any wedding night requests?

DP and I are getting married later this month. We've booked a beeeeeautiful hotel for our wedding night and got a free upgrade to the 'suite' which is beyond dreamy Smile
Anyway, the mamanger emailed me yesterday just to finalise a few things (we're having our reception in the same hotel) and asked if I had any special requests for the wedding night. I was stumped. What kind of things do people ask for, if any? Is it just a courtesy ask? I'm just happy with the upgrade, we got a discount on the original room anyway (was meant to be 190 but we paid 150) the suite is 320 a night so for me that's enough of a treat!
Only thing I might ask is they bring some of the flowers up from the reception, but other than that I just don't know.
They have an amazing wine/cocktail list in the restaurant downstairs, I was thinking of asking for a bottle of champagne to be added to the bill and left in our room for us, is that the sort of thing she means?

Bedtime milk!!! On your wedding night GrinGrin

BigSandyBalls2015 · 02/06/2017 09:40

Whoops, sorry!

KentMum2008 · 02/06/2017 09:41

Do you think I should ask for a quilt hand stitched by local nuns? With mine and DHs portraits embroidered on it?

As always with MN, what starts as a genuine question has decended into silliness. And I love it.

Slightly disappointed, as I half-hoped the opening post would say something about being quite content with the "missionary position" because you'd be too exhausted after your busy day to appreciate anything more adventurous!

However - all the posts and OP'S replies have made this a great thread - thank you all so much! Grin

Ginger782 · 02/06/2017 09:47

Don't ask for champagne to be charged to your bill OP. They know it's your wedding night, they will likely give you a free bottle! If you get to the room and there is none, you can always call for some.

(Hot tip: every hotel you book for the next 10 years little while, say you are on your honeymoon. You will find bubbly and chocolates supplied for freeeeeeeee constantly. 😀)

KentMum2008 · 02/06/2017 09:49

Happy I did think carefully about the wording before I posted Grin
Other options were 'to not want anything special on my wedding night?'
'to be content with wedding night upgrade?'
'to not have thought about wedding night requests other than just lots of sex please?' Ok I didn't really consider that last one...

We had champagne and cake and sandwiches delivered to our room. We went to our room at about 4am and it was the first time we had properly eaten all day and had a great drunken chat about the day. Flowers and presents were brought up to the room and breakfast the next morning.

Failing all that, a storm trooper butler with a jar of lube and a jam jar of crisco and veterinary rubber gloves would come in handy alright

KentMum2008 · 02/06/2017 09:50

Ginger all I can think about is that episode of Friends where Chandler and Monica are on their honeymoon, and that other couple get all the freebies Grin

Alan Rickman is one of my favourites too, Mangomay.

Your wedding by the sea sounds absolutely lovely and I hope you have a wonderful day.

KentMum2008 · 02/06/2017 09:55

Thank so Apairof. We're ridiculously excited. Only 14 guests and nobody knows about it yet except the people who are invited and half of mumsnet by now

That sounds so cool.

Congratulations.

viques · 02/06/2017 10:01

I would ask for a plate of sandwiches. You won't have eaten much and will be bloody starving.

KentMum2008 · 02/06/2017 10:04

Good idea viques, thanks 😊

Does it do room service? If so then I would wait until the evening and see what you fancy. My bet is that a nice cup of tea and some biscuits would be best Wink

I'd find rose petals etc a bit cheesy.

Your wedding sounds lovely. I hope you have a wonderful day. 👰🏻🤵🏻

maddiemookins16mum · 02/06/2017 10:32

We asked for some bottled water (it was greatly appreciated at 5am when I awoke parched as I ate and drank hardly anything at my own wedding reception). They left a bottle of fizz and choccies and a card which we bundled into our overnight case).

to not have any wedding night requests?
Fabulousdahlink · 02/06/2017 21:40

We were grateful for the shortbread and prosecco the hotel put on for us...we sat opening cards and chatting..realising that the wedding breakfast had been early and we were too busy to eat at the evening do, we were quite peckish and nreded the energy.....

YoungYolandaYorgensen39 · 02/06/2017 21:43

Not a penis beaker.

arrrrghhwinehelpswithteens · 02/06/2017 21:50

a flying helmet
whisk
wet celery

(I know, I watch too much 'Allo 'Allo)

at ours, our very nice best man and bridesmaid made us an apple pie bed, put biscuits under the pillow and put a (brand new) loo brush on it. And set the alarm for 3a. m. They were popular!!😂😂

Lube? Super high-speed internet access to quality porn? So much depends on which virginities you have remaining. And are planning to lose.

mynameislolita · 02/06/2017 21:53

.

NotAMammy · 02/06/2017 21:58

On a serious notes: food, a couple slices of your wedding cake brought up after you cut it/it's taken out.

On the less serious: an assistant to take out your hair, remove your makeup and your contact lenses and moisturise your face, undress you, slip you into something more comfortable and massage your feet and head while DH gets similar treatment without the makeup, presumably.
Tubs of icecream freshly made from milk from the cows beside the hotel, flavoured with strawberries from wild strawberries foraged from the forest where you first met.
A working tardis
All bed linen to be an exact shade of teal. Provide the pantone reference for the avoidance of doubt.
A fish tank in the bathroom, a la Romeo and Juliet

nocoolnamesleft · 02/06/2017 22:03

I'm gutted. I've stayed at one of the hotels listed on that link for superbly fulfilling a guest's request. And I didn't ask for anything special. Bugger, talk about opportunity missed!

lemony7 · 02/06/2017 22:25

On our wedding night I REALLY wanted a cheese sandwich. I was 5 months pregnant and hadn't eaten all day (I'm rubbish with food). So my advice would be some snacks Smile

WheresYouWheelieBin · 02/06/2017 23:50

A packet of Tim Tams that never runs out.
