The golf cart thing made me laugh (derisively)

Bet it won't make the news/go viral as HC collapsing at the 9/11 memorial service did. Because she had pneumonia.

What did Trump have? Toddleritis? Can't walk any more, is grumpy & needs to be carried, or carted?

Gumpendorf · 28/05/2017 10:04

He didn't want to use up any of his finite energy, Fid. Grin

This is up there with the most cringy things he's done. What were they thinking?

Seriously though, if they were thinking at all Trump must have been mightily tired by that point. I doubt he'll do many overseas trips in future.

Roussette · 28/05/2017 10:30

I'll make a prophesy here. I doubt Trump will do another foreign trip. First of all, he says he hates travelling and/or going outside the US. I want him to be so exhausted from this he doesn't come to the UK.

I don't think his health will come with it. He looked and acted dead on his feet at times. Apparently there's an Asian OPEC trip planned for him in November. Bet he doesnt go

lionheart · 28/05/2017 10:45

He does not travel or 'translate' very well.

Love the looks exchanged between the guys around him when he makes his push.

Otoh, Fox says the trip was a home run, America is back, Trump was an advocate for America and a pillar of strength. And goes on a rant about the traitor in the WH. And it's not Jared. Wink

Trump readies White House "war room" for Russia probe on.msnbc.com/2qp17PM

FFS a bloody war room to fight off the treason investigations. Seriously. The mind boggles.

cozietoesie · 28/05/2017 12:40

I wouldn't even refer to it Ginger - I don't think there's any need. They've been referring to Bannon's 'War Room' for some time now. This sounds more like a turn of phrase to 'energise' 45.

PerkingFaintly · 28/05/2017 12:51

I'd be suggesting to 45 that Bannon's "War Room" puts Bannon back in charge. Especially if part of his strategy is that Trump shouldn't tweet speak directly to the people so much...

But then I'm cruel.Grin

Roussette · 28/05/2017 13:21

Blimey. I watched a bit of that Fox News clip. Dreadful, truly dreadful, had to turn it off. Home run, my arse

This is a fascinating New Yorker article written in 1997 and is all about Trump and how he operates and the man he is.

How prophetic. Even then he was exaggerating the size of crowds, and there's a never ending stream of 'fantastic, super luxury, big, amazing'. Nothing's changed

Trump probably flipped the Italian PM off because he asked him for some 'bunga bunga' and the PM told him 'we don't do that round here anymore'.

That picture of Scrotus in the Lil Tykes push car is absolutely priceless!

TheNorthWestPawsage · 28/05/2017 14:16

Thanks for the link to the 1997 New Yorker article Rousette - horrifying and fascinating in equal measures!

'Alair Townsend, a former deputy mayor in the Koch administration, once quipped, “I wouldn’t believe Donald Trump if his tongue were notarized.” '

Roussette · 28/05/2017 14:21

Yes NorthWest it just goes to show. Trump has never been remotely likeable. In fact, quite the opposite.

TheNorthWestPawsage · 28/05/2017 14:27

This also caught my eye in The New Yorker article... it could have been written yesterday.

'Of course, the “comeback” Trump is much the same as the Trump of the eighties; there is no “new” Trump, just as there was never a “new” Nixon. Rather, all along there have been several Trumps: the hyperbole addict who prevaricates for fun and profit; the knowledgeable builder whose associates profess awe at his attention to detail; the narcissist whose self-absorption doesn’t account for his dead-on ability to exploit other people’s weaknesses; the perpetual seventeen-year-old who lives in a zero-sum world of winners and “total losers,” loyal friends and “complete scumbags”; the insatiable publicity hound who courts the press on a daily basis and, when he doesn’t like what he reads, attacks the messengers as “human garbage”; the chairman and largest stockholder of a billion-dollar public corporation who seems unable to resist heralding overly optimistic earnings projections, which then fail to materialize, thereby eroding the value of his investment—in sum, a fellow both slippery and naïve, artfully calculating and recklessly heedless of consequences.'

Macron admits his handshake with Trump was "not innocent":

www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-40077241

cozietoesie · 28/05/2017 14:47

Interestingly, I seem to recall a short passage from some book where one of the characters is describing how to 'do' a handshake with a 'squeezer'. I didn't pay it too much mind because I don't seem to have to have handshakes with people but - if I recall - it came down to positioning your hand 'far up within the shake' so that any 'squeeze' has to be effected on your main hand and not on your fingers. Then, apparently, you can ........turn the tables, so to speak.

Look at where Macron has his hand positioned. Smile
