Just that really? If I put this in with dark colors, will it run, or should I just wash it alone?

If something is red and white, would you watch that alone as well?

I'd wash it with my darks.

cardibach · 23/05/2017 19:52

With coloured garments which have been washed a lot before and in a low temperature.

Colour catchers are your friend. And wash it with things that won't run.

QuiteLikely5 · 23/05/2017 19:54

On its own

LauraGashley · 23/05/2017 19:54

I don't think that colour will run, or they would have designed a dress that will ruin itself on the first wash clever marketing ploy
If I'm not sure about something, I usually stick it in with a few old towels on a cool wash the first time to see what happens!

userofthiswebsite · 23/05/2017 19:55

Well if you put it in with the darks the white bit of the top might get ruined if dye runs from other clothes.
Put it in with the lights and the dye from the black part of the top might run into all the other clothes.
So the second option is more risky but I've washed black and white items before and not had any issues with running.
I think worst is bright red items and jeans.

FreeSpiritJen · 23/05/2017 19:55

Black and white dress? That dress on the first pic is definitely blue and gold? Grin

Cakeisbest · 23/05/2017 19:55

I'd wash it on it's own, by hand, at least initially. You don't want the black sitting on the white for any amount of time as the black may run into it. Best to get the excess black out first, Then after a few wears and washes like that I'd put it in with the whites with one of those colour run sheets that catch the dye in the water.

FreeSpiritJen · 23/05/2017 19:56

Wash on a low temp, 30 c or less. With similar colours (greys and blacks and whites.)

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar · 23/05/2017 19:56

I was always told that if it's partially white, wash with whites, as the colours shouldn't run. What I do in practice is wash all the stuff I have that's partially white (loads of dds clothes) together as one load, and keep the whites separate.

MeganChips · 23/05/2017 20:00

I'd wash it with the whites, with a colour catcher just in case.

hellokittymania · 23/05/2017 20:01

Blue and gold is the minions! Grin

I I have some old white towels that I could wash it with.

hellokittymania · 23/05/2017 20:02

Chips, forgive my ignorance, but what is the color catcher?

OP posts:
ToastyFingers · 23/05/2017 20:03

Wash it with towels or bedding or stuff you wouldn't be devastated to have the black run on. After two washes it should be fine to go in with a normal load.

misscph1973 · 23/05/2017 20:03

I wash dark coloured, light coloured and white. Both would go in the light coloured.

LookAtAllTheBullshit · 23/05/2017 20:04

By itself.
It shouldn't ruin itself, so the colours of the dress are steadfast, not with a dark load cos they may run, at a push do with a light load.

PippaPug · 23/05/2017 20:05

Colour catchers!
You an buy them at any supermarket and you chuck them in with a wash and they catch any colours which could run
They are fab!

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 23/05/2017 20:07

I would stick on a 0° wash with a colour catcher.

hellokittymania · 23/05/2017 20:08

Pug, thank you so much for that information! I hadn't even heard of those.

These OP, they really work. Thank god as DH is useless at sorting a wash, he prefers to wash by owner Hmm

I like you dress where's it from? Are thy pockets on the edge?

lorelairoryemily · 23/05/2017 20:09

Wash it on cold and it won't run

P1nkP0ppy · 23/05/2017 20:12

Wash on its own, wool cycle or delicates, cold wash and use a detergent for coloured clothes. Dry on a hanger.
