I don't know if you have seen about this balloon thing you swallow and they inflate and it fills your tum up with this balloon. Well it's 3000 pounds done privately not yet available on the nhs according to the DAILY FAIL. I am just wondering if this is the magic wand I need to lose 3 freaking stone! Where do I go any idea?

Hmm
IvorHughJarrs · 19/05/2017 22:33

[https://www.healthierweight.co.uk/gastric-balloon/ Healthier Weight]] do it. I have been considering it myself.

SoleBizzz · 19/05/2017 22:34

II knew of a Woman who'd had the balloon. Lost six stones nd has kept it off since.

JennyOnAPlate · 19/05/2017 22:34

I was reading about this earlier and the article just said it's available privately. It's still quite a lot of money though!!

JollySmelly · 19/05/2017 22:34

Oh don't do the Hmm faces! OP is clearly not asking the question for the shitz and giggles is she?

IvorHughJarrs · 19/05/2017 22:34

Healthier Weight link fail

chocolatespiders · 19/05/2017 22:34

I have seen this. Think it only last a few months so probably better to have a gastric band for a few thousand more

Mrsmadevans · 19/05/2017 22:34

oh don't you think it will work ? I totally believed it , I should have known it was too good to be true

OP posts:
Lj8893 · 19/05/2017 22:34

how about something a little less radical? Like Slimming world?

Mrsmadevans · 19/05/2017 22:36

ohhh thank you Ivor

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 19/05/2017 22:37

tried it can't stick to it

So is this done without invasive surgery?

You'd need to know the potential risks involved but I'd generally support anyone's plans to get themselves fitter & healthier.

SoleBizzz · 19/05/2017 22:37

Do what is best for you. Nobody else can tell you what suits you.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 19/05/2017 22:37

Some of the Spires hospitals do it.

JollySmelly · 19/05/2017 22:38

Slimming World doesn't work for everyone. There's no one size fits all for weight loss. If there were there would not be many overweight people! OP has seen something that interests her is all!

JennyOnAPlate · 19/05/2017 22:38

I think it probably works but you only have it for a few months, so the question is what happens once it's removed?

Mrsmadevans · 19/05/2017 22:38

Thank you I am looking at the link Ivor gave me it looks very promising

OP posts:
Birdsgottaf1y · 19/05/2017 22:38

You can still eat over your calorie allowance, so it depends on why you are overweight.

I know someone who had it, she just put the weight back on, a few years later.

Mrsmadevans · 19/05/2017 22:39

well Jenny I will prob put it back on again ......that is so depressing

OP posts:
Asmoto · 19/05/2017 22:39

I read an article about someone who had one, binged, and burst it.

Mrsmadevans · 19/05/2017 22:40

I honestly don't know what to do I am a bit desperate to be honest I have this fight with food all the time

OP posts:
JennyOnAPlate · 19/05/2017 22:40

I completely sympathise though as a magic wand seeker myself!

JollySmelly · 19/05/2017 22:42

OP have you had a discussion with your GP as starting point? Not everyone can do it by themselves! Maybe you need more support?

IvorHughJarrs · 19/05/2017 22:43

I spoke to them Mrs when I was researching options. They were very good and sounded professional

A friend of mine has had a procedure with them and said they were excellent and the aftercare and psychological support was far better than others she checked
