Good luck OP! Bet you can lose a couple of stone in 3 months.

Anon5678943 · 15/05/2017 20:19

Literally every woman and her dog are on slimming world at my work and they are all losing stones , I have a good few stone to lose and considering joining in too. I started at new year but only.kept it up for about 3 weeks, good luck op, you arent alone Star

Nusername · 15/05/2017 20:24

You'll be fine, I'm sure of it. Second advice to ring airline.

Can I suggest you don't do Slimming world? You lost 6 stone with them but you, and everyone else who loses it their way, put it back on. That's not because you failed - it's because their system doesn't work.
If you're on Facebook I can not recommend highly enough that you look at Rebelfit. It's life changing

PurpleDaisies · 15/05/2017 20:26

That's not because you failed - it's because their system doesn't work.

The system does work. It's a sustainable way of eating and long term you've got lots of healthy recipes as your staple diet. If you go back to eating how you did before the weight goes back on.

bugaboo218 · 15/05/2017 20:28

I was huge op size 30/32 and I started slimming world 15months ago and have lost a lot of weight ! It does work. When I lost 3stone ish roughly a size 26/28 I flew to USA. Flight was fine went with BA and they were v helpful and discreet. Yes I was over weight, but I was not going to let being fat get in the way of me living and enjoying life! I knew I could lose the weight so it was not going to ruin my holiday. Op you maybe large, but large does not equate with being nasty! Fat or not you still deserve to be treated with respect!

theclick · 15/05/2017 21:53

OP why don't you start with a little exercise each day. Build it up. Good luck x

pinkdinosaur · 15/05/2017 22:00

Have a look at MyFitnessPal, I've found it really helpful and have maintained my loss for a year now - plus it's free! 1000kCal is really low, you shouldn't go under 1200kCal unless you are being supervised by a doctor and I think you could probably eat a few hundred more than that and still lose at a good rate - more likely to stick to it too. Plug your numbers into MFP and see what it suggests. Good luck!

pinkdinosaur · 16/05/2017 08:00

thanks lady

had i look at my fitness pal and it Would only recommend a 2020 cal a day diet to lose 2 lb per week!! i need more i hope!!

will keep putting my meals in as its a good way to keep track!!

You are not fat and nasty. You sound like a lovely person having a very tough time.

ShelaghTurner · 16/05/2017 08:22

Have to say thanks for this thread. I'm due to fly in less than a fortnight for the first time in about 8 years. I'm a 22/24 and was terrified of not fitting in the seat but all the info on here has given me hope.

Wishing you so much luck with your weight loss pinkdinosaur. Flowers

Madwoman5 · 16/05/2017 08:29

My colleague was very chunky chap and had to buy two seats to travel. Made it more comfortable for him and those sitting next to him. Never stopped him from flying all over the place.

pinkdinosaur · 27/05/2017 11:59

feeling positive!! but a long way to go!!

Whoop whoooop well done OP

LadySalmakia · 27/05/2017 12:08

Wow, well done!!

Can I suggest something my counsellor is very very big on? You've called yourself some horrible names on here and I'm sure they are simply not true, but talking to and about yourself that way isn't good for motivation. I do it too, but I'm working on it and starting to feel so much better about myself now I do it less. Counsellor told me the old classic "would you call your best friend that?" and no of course you wouldn't. And you'd be really hurt if your bf said that to you. So why are you saying it to yourself?

Anyway, it's a hard habit to break but negative self-talk is really confidence sapping. You're amazing so tell yourself that!

TheBrilloPad · 27/05/2017 12:33

Well done OP!! That's amazing.

For motivation, I would suggest following lots of slimming world people on instagram etc. They will post meal ideas and updates about what they have done to achieve their weight loss. "ThisTimeI'veDoneIt" is a good one to follow. She was a size 28/30, and is down to a size 10/12 after 2 years with slimming world.

LavenderRainbows · 27/05/2017 13:12

You can do it!! I've lost almost 5 stone in 7 months with slimming world. I've never been able to stick to a diet before but sw is so good.
Well done on that loss so far, keep at itStar

Sionella · 27/05/2017 13:22

Flowers and calorie free Cake and Gin for you, that's amazing!

stevie69 · 27/05/2017 13:38

PD, you're gorgeous; we all are. You just need a bit of encouragement to realise it, maybe Blush

Give the weight loss plan a real good go and then ..... enjoy your holiday.

Let us know how you're doing.

nakedscientist · 27/05/2017 13:43

Hi
Don't be sad, you are not nasty. Three months is a good amount of time. I lost 4 stone on Slimmers word but can I recommend Michael Moselys Fast Diet? Excellent results, very doable and scientifically/ medically endorsed.
I think you'll be fine.

FloatyCat · 27/05/2017 13:48

Please take the advice and go to slimming world. 3 months will make a difference!

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 27/05/2017 14:08

Well done, PinkDinosaur, you'll get there. :)

Reow · 27/05/2017 15:35

Well don't OP, that's amazing!

monkeywithacowface · 27/05/2017 15:40

Well done OP! I think you can make great progress in 3 months and you will feel so much better for it.

Remember though if you have a blip or a bad day then that's all it is just a blip so don't beat yourself up if it happens!

BenjaminLinus · 27/05/2017 18:03

Excellent! You do realise that you're no longer a size 30? You're a 29 - you'll roughly drop a dress size with every stone, so only 5lbs to go until you're a 28 :-)
