That this is a bit of a crappy Pass the Parcel prize?

So DH went out to do some chores, including getting a Pass the Parcel prize for DD's 6th birthday party tomorrow. I said it needed to be fairly small because otherwise you use rolls and rolls of wrapping paper to do al, the lawyers. He came back with this dolphin pencil sharpener (biro given for scale).

Settle a marital dispute: is this a bit crappy for a Pass the Parcel prize? Are we Mean Parents? Or will 5/6 year olds be very happy to win a dolphin pencil sharpener?

I like the dolphin but sherbert lemons ? ??

KurriKurri · 13/05/2017 13:08

It's not just the choking risk with sherbet lemons - they go into shards as you suck them and can have very sharp pieces in them - I always get a sore mouth after eating them (I eat them anyway because I like them)

Oh i didn't see the sherbert lemoms.
Id definitely take them out and replace them with a bag of jellies

It's nice. When did kids -parents- get so demanding?

NightWanderer · 13/05/2017 16:03

Young children and the elderly are at greater risk of choking. When he was 3, DS choked on a boiled sweet. It was so scary. Luckily instinct kicked in and I tipped him upside down, slapped him on the back and out it came. The Heimlich wasn't working for some reason.

I don't see anyone being demanding and saying the OP needs to provide an expensive present. Just saying the pencil sharpener on its own looked a bit lonely. The set she made looks great.

I don't see a warning on a Werthers Original packet.

An American study found that hard candy, such as boiled sweets, was the most common choked on food item in children.

I once won a toothbrush aged about 8. So, you're winning.
