If this is your house you have a right to know that there is nothing illegal under your roof. Explain that you don't want to destroy his property but that if he won't find somewhere else for it you will.

Do you rent or own your house? If you rent you could mention it to the landlord. If you own whose name is on the deeds? If it's yours - pop him out and get the loft sorted asap.

IF you can find where he has them plugged in then you could remove the fuses, they die very quickly without a heat source.

How much is he growing? Has he made the loft into a cannabis farm? It's a fire hazard for one and secondly police helicopters with infra red do pick up on these so I would either tell him to get out, get someone to get you up there to destroy them or leave yourself.

Also, is the electric coming from your meter or has he by passed it? You need to know these things.

You mention your family - do you have kids in the house?

If you report it then the relationship will be over, if that is what you want then fine, if not then don't report it. You do need to talk about it and get it out of the house though.

If you do report it I can't see you, as the reporter, being prosecuted. That would be ridiculous.

If you don't report and someone else does, then you could well be prosecuted depending on the amount.

If you report and the police raid the place then job done. If they tell you they don't care then you haven't lost anything for trying. except perhaps a weed growing fuckwit

Basically if they don't suspect that he is growing to 'deal' then all they can do is confiscate. You need to give him an ultimatum, and if he chooses the weed over your family then you should know you deserve better and it's time to leave. I know it's not fair that it's you leaving, but make the police aware of what is happening so you have a case number. If it's tenancy of any kind then you can forfeit your place in the contract by saying you cannot live in those conditions, or he may be evicted due to it. Not sure if your renting, or the property is owned, so any help with that side.

He ended up harvesting it, stashing it under his grand daughters bed and refused to stop wven when the school pulled her mum up on her stinking of it. He promised to stop, blamed everyone else yet carried on. I didn't go to the police in case they asked me questions I couldn't answer, but I LTB and never once looked back. Bottom line is he knows you hate it and doesn't care enough to change that. My bet is hes smoking it, as my ex was, and thats what led to his total apathy towards my feelings. Get your affairs in order see where you stand in relation to the house and get out now. Refusing to get rid of it is just a symptom of the total lack of respect he has from you. The police don't/won't care. They won't care until they can find a large enough dealer ring to pounce on all at once. They no longer give a shit about small-scale growers, so unless you've got boarded-up/silver-foil covered windows, are pinching electricity form the national grid or show up as a literal hot-spot when they do their helicopter sweeps your DP's growing will go on uninterrupted.

It's only 2 or 3 plants. He hasn't bypassed the electric but the bill has gone up by 84%. Still cheap than buying it but not worth the hassle. But then I don't smoke it.
