Changing baby name at last minute

I'm 39 weeks with DC3. MIL phones everyday for a 'progress report', which is fine in itself, but she always ends up trying to guess the names we have chosen. DH and I decided on the names weeks ago, but have categorically stated that we will not tell anyone the name until the baby is born.

Today, however, MIL guessed the name we have chosen for a boy, and while I didn't let on that she had guessed correctly, I'm so annoyed that she's right that I've gone off it, and I really want to change it because I know she will tell everybody that she knew the name first (being the first to do/know/see things is very important in her world)!

I know I'm being absolutely ridiculous, and I'll feel better in an hour or so, but I had to vent to someone!

Fingers crossed MIL dials it down!

I don't want to piss you off but a tricky relationship with MIL is only going to get trickier when the baby comes. My MIL is great but she also drives me nuts.

Don't tell her a fake name, every person you've ever met will know it before you've even given birth and although it would make the MIL look silly it will also lead to confusion and cards for the wrong name etc

Is the name 'Rumpelstiltskin'?

Next time she starts name guessing on the phone say "sorry, just going into a tunnel" and make static noises until she gets the hint and stops (works well on Skype calls too )

If I was you, if she's really convinced you're having a boy I'd be praying for a girl just to say you were wrong. But I can be a bit evil sometimes
