To think this woman was just being a passive aggressive bitch?

DH is away with work this weekend, it's a good opportunity for him and he wanted to go. We had been invited to a charity event and we decided that as he was away, I would go on my own with friends. It wasn't a 'couples' thing, just a mixture of people with a common interest in the charity.

A friend put some photographs of the event on Facebook today and my friend's sister commented on them with a 'you all look like you had a great time, was Mr Pig not there?' She knew he wasn't going as I saw her a couple of weeks ago and mentioned it then. The next comment from her was 'Well done you, I don't think I could enjoy myself on a night out if I new my other half was working and I was on a jolly. Love that you can, I would just feel so guilty'.

It's really pissed me right off, but I may be hungover and sensitive!

Wow, just wow. I think that's what I would be tempted to comment. But I'd leave it because I'm sure if she's coming across as a twat to you she's coming across as a twat to other people too.

OrigamiOverload · 07/05/2017 19:41

If that is really true and she can't relax when her DH is working then she is an idiot. No one actually lives like that.

Everyone who reads that comment will see that she is being a passive aggressive twat.

MinorRSole · 07/05/2017 19:43

I regularly enjoy myself when dh is working!

Fortunately I don't think he expects me to pine until we are reunited after a massive 8 or 9 hours apart Hmm

user1489179512 · 07/05/2017 19:43

I am more worried that she can't spell the word "knew".

HelpTheTigers · 07/05/2017 19:44

She's a weirdo.

I have a 'friend' like that too, but she has a (sort of) excuse as she had a brain virus and has less of a filter than before. Or maybe she's just being a malicious troll, which would fit in with what others have said about her past behaviour.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 07/05/2017 19:47

I'm going to start calling my nights out "Going on a jolly" it sounds like something Enid Blyton would say. Grin

I feel a bit sorry for your friend OP. She sounds really embarrassed about her sister's comments

LaContessaDiPlump · 07/05/2017 19:49

I think I'd comment with a simple 'Why on earth would you feel guilty? How strange :/'

Garlicansapphire · 07/05/2017 19:50

Reply: "Wow, thats really sad'.

Or "My zest for life and independence was what first attracted my DH. What attracted your DH to you?'

Yup - bad advice alert.

I'm loving these replies!!

Squishedstrawberry4 · 07/05/2017 19:51

'😂 Do you have to poo at the same time too?

Squishedstrawberry4 · 07/05/2017 19:52

'Is that a green eyed monster I spy?'

Botanicbaby · 07/05/2017 19:57

ha yes I would be desperate to comment on her spelling of the word 'knew' but wouldn't.

best to ignore, she's clearly trying to get a rise out of you so tempted as I would be to say 'really?', it would be best to ignore or just say what PP say 'thanks'. Or mess with her and say 'yeah my pig was there, he took the pics' or something similarly untrue.

innagazing · 07/05/2017 20:15

Secretsquirrel used the word 'tragic', and I think you should just text this one word with the emoji of your choice. (a weird one or a laughing one or the one that says 'fuck off' best)

WankStainWasher · 07/05/2017 20:20

I would have to go for "Aww, bless your heart!"

but I like "Tragic Hmm" as well. Grin

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 07/05/2017 20:20

just be happy n the fact that every single person who reads her comment will think she's an absolute plank. That should cheer you up Grin

IJustLostTheGame · 07/05/2017 20:23

"Bahahahahahahaaaaa good one! Oh wait, you're serious? Uh huh. Right then. Ummmm. OK. ...."

MyGastIsFlabbered · 07/05/2017 20:36

Reply with 'how strange, DP would be gutted if he thought I couldn't enjoy myself without him'

HildaOg · 07/05/2017 20:40

What a sad, weird woman. I'd say that.

HappyFlappy · 07/05/2017 21:01

Or say "Truly? I've heard that he can really enjoy himself when you aren't there" and add a Wink

(Well, perhaps not, but how tempting.)

Id reply with

Aww, thats sweet, but mrbpig and i find that we dont need to kive in each others pocket and are able to enjoy time together and apart"

bigmouthstrikesagain · 07/05/2017 21:12

I would respond with a "Hahaha, you are funny when you pretend to be a Stepford wife!" Or is that reference too dated [ blush]

MakeItRain · 07/05/2017 21:15

Just reply "We had a great time thanks. Hope you're ok." Or something along those lines. Makes you seem lovely, completely not bothered by her and concerned for her strange attitude!

TreeTop7 · 07/05/2017 21:21

She's jealous of you. Pity her.

Bluntness100 · 07/05/2017 21:26

I agree she's jealous of you and it's driving her to be s bitch, just respond with "ah that's a shame for you x" and leave it there.
