Sorry for the strange sounding title I couldn't think of how to phrase the question!!!
Been a bit stuck for motivation really - got lots of things I need to get done that I KNOW I can do, just been feeling a bit low.

So help me out guys!!! Tell me stories of when you've made yourself really proud. Get me motivated!!!

Studying as a mature student and gaining Distinction on my course and a professional qualification.

RainbowsandUnicornPoop · 07/05/2017 17:11

Getting through my final year of uni while being pregnant the whole way through, holding down a job and long distance relationship and mostly keeping my anxiety and health in check Smile

needapickmeup · 07/05/2017 17:18

Two perfect examples for me as it is uni work that I need to get done! Thank you ladies.

Rainbows if you can do it whilst pregnant then I have no excuse! Out comes the laptop.

Facing my phobia of heights and doing the walk on top of the Sydney Harbour bridge. I was millimetres away from completely losing my shit but I fought with every fibre of my being and I did it! Doesn't quite relate to your situation but I'm still damn proud.

Never again though !

insancerre · 07/05/2017 17:25

My uni graduation in my 40s achieved while working full time

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 07/05/2017 17:25

I recovered from a mental illness after a lot of work and therapy Smile It was a very long road but I got there in the end.

needapickmeup · 07/05/2017 17:26

Primadonna I've just googled Sydney Harbour bridge walk and all I can say is wow... You're a lot braver than I am!!!

Finishing my first half marathon. I lost 7 stone to do it and was in tears when I crossed the line! Still not sure how I did it but have to do it again in 3 weeks!

Emphasise · 07/05/2017 17:29

Oh this is interesting. There have been the obvious "big" ones, my OLevels were pretty good and I did a degree with 2 dc under 5 and a job! I've run a marathon and done a triathlon despite the swimming bit scaring me to death. I've given presentations when public speaking fills me with dread and ive organised charitable events but I think the things I'm most proud of are the little things I've done quietly. Clearing a colleague's workload so he could get home to a sick child, biting my tongue when the obvious retort would have been hurtful, being brave enough to offer help to a stranger.

Nickynackynoodle · 07/05/2017 17:29

Passing my trailer towing test.

Donttakemeout · 07/05/2017 17:30

Passing my driving test ( had failed 5 times due to nerves)

TheZeppo · 07/05/2017 17:30

Running a marathon. I'm exceptionally lazy 😳

Justmadeperfectflapjacks · 07/05/2017 17:31

Driving to Portugal via finance and Spain with 6 dc in the car some years ago. .
Divorcing my abusive ex and making a new life.

tinyterrors · 07/05/2017 17:31

My proudest moment will be this summer when I finish my degree. I had three under 5s when I started and have had bereavements and illnesses along the way but I somehow kept going, my stubborn streak came in handy for once ☺️.

SelfObsessionHoney · 07/05/2017 17:32

Qualifying as a nurse, my marriage broke down in the last few months of uni and I'd moved cities to a new job which was dependant on me passing my course.
I can remember the feeling of elation running through me when I got my results.

PNGirl · 07/05/2017 17:34

Graduating from my languages degree at Durham. 4 years of graft, including a year abroad completely by myself without knowing anyone, and I did the final year while working 16 hours a week.

MrTumblesbitch · 07/05/2017 17:37

When I completed my psychotherapy. Therapist told me at last session that I was a brilliant mum and I had worked really hard to build a successful life for us both (single parent since pregnancy) it's first time I had had someone tell me something positive about myself that I believed. She knew the very worst of me, yet still thought I was a good person. I hold her words with me - I've bloody done a good job (so far) against every odd, even if it did nearly kill me!

Firstwomanonthemoon · 07/05/2017 17:38

Moving to another country, learning a new language and scariest of all for me learning to drive on the other side of the road in a country with mad driving.

Thattwatoverthere · 07/05/2017 17:41

Passing my driving test on my 6th attempt. Was so shocked to hear the examiner say "you've passed" I told him to fuck off. Happily he didn't take it back and make me do it again.

OublietteBravo · 07/05/2017 17:44

Passing a set of motoriously difficult professional exams at the first attempt. I retrained in my 30s whilst working FT and having 2 young children.

ButtMuncher · 07/05/2017 17:44

Not giving in to my MH battles and pulling it back from five suicide attempts, no job, no home, crap relationships to going to work full time, taking on a stepson, getting engaged with a home and becoming a Mum last year. Honestly if someone told me I'd be here back in 2013 I would have laughed hollowly.

CAT therapy made all the difference. I had a blow after I gave birth as I reacted very badly
to the medication given for c - section which made me spaced out for a month but I'm nearly 8 months in now. I was so worried about a relapse as my anxiety was sky high but it's gotten a little easier as time has gone on.

OublietteBravo · 07/05/2017 17:45

Gah - notoriously not motoriously...

Teddy6767 · 07/05/2017 17:45

Finishing a full time OU degree whilst also working 40 hours a week

forfucksakejanet · 07/05/2017 17:53

Not in any particular order

Passing my driving test in my mid 30's after thinking I'd never do it

Getting a long awaited promotion at work

Losing 3 stone post DD

Buying a house after serious money issues in my 20's

forfucksakejanet · 07/05/2017 17:54
