After hearing him in the Sky ad extolling the virtues of HAITCH DEE.

I winced. I can never look at him in quite the same way again. Oh Idris, we could have been so good together. And you've ruined it.

Aibu?

He could haitch all day long if he was sat next to me .

GetAHaircutCarl · 01/05/2017 10:37

I saw him in an ad recently wearing a vest and said to DH that I thought that was A Bit Much.

DH said, if I looked like that I'd only ever wear a vestGrin.

I'd say most of you would have palpitations if you came to Ireland where we're all such appalling and common ignoramuses.

BishopBrennansArse · 01/05/2017 10:39

I'll have him and take my hearing aids out Wink

GreenHairDontCare · 01/05/2017 10:40

It doesn't matter when Irish people say it, it's a recognised dialectical whatsit.

But when English people, particularly southerners, say it, it is wrong. They should all learn to talk proper, like what I do.

This is why posh women should keep their mitts of our men. You just can't handle the realness.

I think they're better suited to the likes of Jacob Rees-Mogg. Okay he doesn't have quite the same buff physique as Idris but I'm sure his pronunciation would keep them warm at night.

Siwdmae · 01/05/2017 10:43

Gerard Butler has horrible stubby fingers and fish eyes. I don't see the attraction. I think I may be slightly obsessed with nice looking hands.

GreenHairDontCare · 01/05/2017 10:43

On the bright side, at least he hasn't said he's 'eating a meal' or anything involving the word 'moist'.

(That was really hard to even type).

SmileEachDay · 01/05/2017 10:49

Sky told him to say it like that, you sillies.

Anyway, he's practically my husband, so I think you should all stop coveting him.

beckythemasterbaker · 01/05/2017 10:58

They should all learn to talk proper, like what I do. Op, your sentence dug a knife into me. I hate the word "proper"when used instead of "properly"

PortiaCastis · 01/05/2017 10:59

Who cares about a haitch when in the throes of passion with Idris

MarklahMarklah · 01/05/2017 11:02

Green absolutely agree.

Anyone else, THERE IS NO SUCH LETTER AS 'HAITCH'. It is a regional variation but IT IS WRONG!!!
I may be overreacting a little bit

FWIW, I also get similarly irritated by 'seagull' and by meditation tapes which tell me in one breath that there is a clear blue sky, and then go on to talk about the wonderful colours in the sunset.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 01/05/2017 11:04

I just ask him to talk in his Baltimore accent

He is happy to oblige Wink

thecolonelbumminganugget · 01/05/2017 12:04

Not the point but as some people mentioned upthread, I don't know a single woman who can tell the difference between an HD telly and a non HD telly. Its always men who say how awesome it is. I honestly think it's worth some university funding.

Ethylred · 01/05/2017 12:13

Too late all of you.

I've booked a threesome with him and Don Cheadle.

ememem84 · 01/05/2017 12:15

Oooooof idris. He was here on Saturday night (not in my house I hasten to add) but in a local club dj-ing. Fit.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 01/05/2017 13:56

I think he's gorgeous but a twat. Watched him being interviewed and one minute he was saying how he couldn't understand why he's considered a sex symbol and the next was flirting outreagously at the audience hinting at the size of his cock. I hate false modesty and it was just cringy too.

In another interview he came across as an arsehole when he found out an ex-GF's baby son (which she said was his) turned out not to be his, and he said it was bad enough that it wasn't his but even worse as it was a boy! In other words he thinks having a son is more prized than having a daughter (even though he's already got a daughter).

And the final straw was him getting his GF pregnant after only 4 months of dating. Not cool, Idris, not cool at all. Call me horribly old fashioned but I do believe it takes more than 4 months to know whether someone is going to make the ideal parent for your offspring (and I think she was bloody silly too), and that bringing a child into the world with a virtual stranger is pretty irresponsible prepares to be flamed.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 01/05/2017 14:01

All that said, I wouldn't kick him out of bed though Blush

Smellyoulateralligater · 01/05/2017 20:18

smile is he really practically your husband? Because his missus did have a baby a little while ago. And I imagine she would be very smiley. Grin

SmileEachDay · 01/05/2017 20:38

Smelly yes he is.

Definitely.

He is. Hang on, I'll just take a quick photo to prove it..

Hooray smile - we don't mind sharing! Here he is just getting me a cuppa before bed

That's how he would walk around at home.

SmileEachDay · 01/05/2017 22:14

Smelly it's lucky we live so close isn't it. Hope you like the smell of his new shower gel...

SiouxieQ · 01/05/2017 22:14

I don't care if he's broken! I'll fix him

Smellyoulateralligater · 01/05/2017 22:42

Very lucky smile - luckily idris also always makes dinner and washes up, and I'm sure hoovers daily. And cleans the shower after he uses it. Our lives are complete!

(Weirdly though when I first saw that picture it looked like a bit scary)
