To think I can make myself over in one month?

Well, not exactly, but basically I want to get to 31 May and feel and look a lot better. This year so far has been terrible in terms of workload and stress, some awful, worrying things in my caseload. May should be a MUCH easier month, so I want to do some challenges. Not just weight wise, everything. I want to get back into warm lemon water and my daily swim, for example. Just ordered some hopefully flattering clothes online.
Any challenges I can do for a month?
Anyone want to join me?

I hope to keep up with this thread.

I need to lose some weight not sure how much but definitely a good bit.
I want to take better care of my skin
Should use make up more often
Need to try to sleep longer and with more quality to the sleep
Need to get exercise, walking and swimming will be my choices
Need to get better dressed more often and stop going about in any pair of trousers and a top.

if we all succeed we will look wonderful

Silverstone67 · 29/04/2017 10:23

Loads have people have asked but no one has answered..... WHAT does lemon water actually do???? Confused

boffin9207 · 29/04/2017 12:30

Gazelda - for your feet, try liberally rubbing Vaseline or vapour rub over them before bed (a good thick coat) and then covering with socks.

Ginslinger · 29/04/2017 19:07

I have joined an exercise class and I've downloaded an app to count my steps.

toffeeboffin · 30/04/2017 01:40

Yes, what does lemon water actually do? Clear your skin up?

SecretNetter · 30/04/2017 08:34

I though lemon water was just an antioxidant thing...so meant to help your skin, digestion, clear toxins etc.

birdbandit · 30/04/2017 09:53

Count me in, I look like hell. Weight is up, skin grey and eyes yellow. I have a holiday in July and want to lose 2lbs a week and get my shimmy back.

RomanticWalksToTheFridge · 01/05/2017 21:16

Hi everyone,

I have upped my walking to 90 minutes a day the past 3 days and have been alcohol-free, just drinking water and black coffee. I have not done anything food wise but will weigh in on Friday and seeif any changes have happened. I'd be happy to lose 2 pounds a week, but if I could average at just slightly more I would be ecstatic.

How is everyone doing?

iLoveCamelCase · 01/05/2017 23:18

Ooh just seen this thread and definitely up for joining. Another one here who has let good habits go since New Year. Put on half a stone which needs to go. Also need to drink far more water and try to exercise more. Hair cut desperately needed too...

Heavily pregnant here and sick of looking like crap. Had a good haircut and eyebrow wax and tint and lashes tinted and feel much better. Going to start doing tan again too. Just because I'm enormously fat doesn't mean I have to look a total mess in every way.

Canklesofglitter · 02/05/2017 06:56

Personal trainer coming today. Back tracking everything with MFP. Also back on steroids due to a chronic condition. I usually just blow it at this point but I am going to try to carry on tracking and not get too despondent when the steroids stop the scales moving as much as I would like.

Chandlerbing1997 · 02/05/2017 08:33

I will join you! Giving up alcohol for a month - I never used to drink at all but when my youngest daughter got sick I began to have a glass now and again - not that much but I now find I look forward to it and I don't feel comfortable with that! I would love to get fitter this month. I haven't started well today - I've had cheesecake for breakfast!

Chandlerbing1997 · 02/05/2017 08:37

Gazelda - you sound like me! I probably need to lose two stone but I don't want to get all baggy so I'm going to go for one :) My feet are also not good :(

birdbandit · 02/05/2017 13:46

I had a party weekend, so ate/drank more than I should, but it was a lot of fun.

Booked a holiday for beginning of July so the makeover/diet is on. I have a deadline!

I find eating massive leafy salads with protein works. And instead of the constant coffee/tea/decaf I usually consume, I juiced some root ginger. A spoonful in boiling water subs for my usual. I find herbal tea a bit weedy, and lemon water is bad for your teeth?

No booze for me until the end of May.

longwayfromuk · 03/05/2017 08:48

Well it's only day three and after a long, especially tiring day at work I am on the verge of having a drink. But I have just read through the thread again and will stay strong.

I will focus instead on how good I will feel in the morning if I abstain and how quickly the first week will pass after that...

yousignup · 04/05/2017 22:53

Did you stay strong @longwayfromuk ? It's day 4, so far so good, am overdosing on fresh fruit and righteous living. Not got to the weekend yet though...

I will join you!
Just signed up for a Race for Life.

@Canklesofglitter Give us some PT tips, please? Is it a hunky young man who puts you through your paces?

@RomanticWalksToTheFridge Is the coffee with caffeine? I always drink decaff or it sends me really funny. I go out almost every day with DH to a little square, Diet Coke is bad I know but I just can't bring myself to pay for water in a bar.

@Silverstone67 If I told you what lemon water actually does for you, I'd have to kill you :) There'd also be a massive run on lemons and the market would crash.

@FizzyGreenWater That's just how I roll, or rather slide.

I'm in too. Have been trying to do this by myself so is good to have a group. I have embarked upon self care and cannot quite believe... But

  1. I have treated myself to teeth whitening. No idea if it will work but shall report back.
  2. Planning to opt for a shorter style.
  3. Need to lose 1 stone for health as is creeping on. By reducing sweet treats and increasing exercise.
  4. Skin is ravaged by hormones at the moment and not sure what to do.
SpottedOnMN · 04/05/2017 23:56

I am ON this. New Fitbit, and every time the movement alarm goes I'm running up and down stairs until I'm exhausted. Tracking sleep (7.5hrs last night), water (2.2L today) and food intake. 7 day shift the sugar starts on Monday. Need to lose more than 20% of my body weight to get into healthy BMI ShockBlush
