To not want to wear jeans EVER again?!

DD is 20 weeks old and although I didn't put too much weight on, jeans are soooo uncomfortable I've been living in maternity leggings. No unsightly lumps and bumps, they're warm and comfy.

However, now on my third pair from H&M and the fucking cat keeps jumping off my lap and ripping them. Pair no.3 have just died because someone knocked on the front door.

Any solutions to non-ripped leggings but not jeans and no lumps?! Driving me mad!

I wear my size Gingerbread. I've seen in the reviews some people size down, though.

Giddyaunt18 · 25/04/2017 16:44

Right, I have ordered leggings and taper jersey trousers from Next. Will check out the Tesco 'tube pants' too . My skinny jeans had got so tight(about half a stone overweight) I was getting home and whipping them off and changing into Primark joggers. So comfy but have popped out for milk in them a few times and I've started to worry this is a slippery slope and I'll be at the Co-Op next week in my dressing gown!

Giddyaunt18 · 25/04/2017 16:44

jeggings not leggings from Next

Shoegirly · 25/04/2017 16:54

I loathe jeans with a passion. Don't even own a pair of trousers. I live in dresses or tops with skirts but mainly dresses. I have far too many dresses!

ElspethFlashman · 25/04/2017 17:37

Gingerbread I don't have any waistband issues either. I got my regular size but tbh I suspect I could have sized down.

ElspethFlashman · 25/04/2017 17:42

I've just stuck my hands down my pants (just for research purposes you understand.....) and the gusset is definitely below that bit wot rubs. So if one is prone to chub rub you could see how it would happen cos it's bare down there.

But my chub is very forgiving and does not rub, so I haven't had any irritation in that particular area.

Is that clear, class? puts down pince nez

Gingerbreadmam · 25/04/2017 17:49

it isnt where my bare legs rub its where the seems rub on my inner thighs almost down to my knees. it's like the trousers have too much freedom to move. Then my inner thighs are dry and sore for days afterwards.

i do think a smaller size might have been better now i think about it.

I had a wonderful pair of maternity skinny jeans from new look. They were over the bump. I carried on wearing them for months after the dc were born! Best of both worlds, and lovely and warm Smile

I can't wear skinny trousers or leggings - they make my thighs hot & then I start to feel ill. I generally live in jeans but at 10 weeks pg they're ridiculously uncomfortable. I've got some under-bump jeans on their way & some over-bump cords for when I'm bigger but I've yet to find any trousers besides jeans that are comfortable. I'm an awkward shape too - 5' with big hips but a high, skinny waist. I can't even wear belts because they'd sit just under my bra & look ridiculous.

AmusedBush - Jeans = leg prisons Grin good one!!!

@MrsSpenser I wear the proper baggy hippie ones made from heavy cotton jersey, always in plain colours. I get them from hippie shops here, Spain and Italy. I find the styles that reach high street stores too tapered and too smart for me Wink I like 'em proper slouchy and baggy!

Ooh just thought - zara cigarette pants are comfortable and flattering, I like their patterned styles best.

LittleWingSoul · 25/04/2017 19:12

@MrsSpenser was going on about harem pants there!

ChickenMe · 25/04/2017 19:50

Nice tracky bottoms (mine are from Hollister). I also wear a body with jeans so never get builders bum. i also borrowed these belts off my partner hard to explain but rather than your traditional belt it's able to go to any size so it actually works. It has canvas webbing and a flat flip up buckle, often called a military belt.

LilacSpatula · 25/04/2017 20:22

Good idea with the body chicken!

Giddyaunt18 · 25/04/2017 22:08

Sorry I confused you with haveacupoftea in the excitement of comfy jeans! Grin

defineme · 25/04/2017 22:11

I love my matalan dungarees, stretchy, comfortable, smooth.

Giddyaunt18 · 26/04/2017 12:52

Just got my Next jeggings and taper trousers. They are lush! I am going to bin my skinny jeans right now!

Northernpowerhouse · 27/04/2017 10:14

Thank you, thank you! I have just bought a pair of the next tapered trousers after seeing th em recommended on here. I love them! They are going to be so much more comfortable and flattering than my black skinnies. Would never have looked at them usually.

Giddyaunt18 · 28/04/2017 18:49

Got my Asda wonder fit skinnies today. They are so comfy. I'm a 12 and got a 10/12 on a PP recommendation and they fit so well. Nice high waist so no bulges and a really close fit on legs but so stretchy I could do yoga in them. Thanks for the tip!
