To put my baby's in birth arrival outfits?

When I take my children home from the hospital, I have always had a special outfit for them and will again have one for this baby. Been reading some old threads and people think this is tacky. I really don't know why!
Is it that bad of an idea? I like getting a few photos!

Tacky as fuck. Babies are not fashion accessories Hmm

GaelicSiog · 23/04/2017 21:35

I think they're awful personally. But if it makes you happy, do it.

GlitterGlue · 23/04/2017 21:35

Well they're interesting.

liadaintheirishpoetess · 23/04/2017 21:35

We took the tutus off the girls before we put them in car seats.
Basically, I chose the outfits because I wanted to have something special for them to see when they got older. Part of it is probably related to my own mum chucking all my baby clothes out!

What exactly are you looking for by asking this question on here?

liadaintheirishpoetess · 23/04/2017 21:36

Just wanted to know whether other people would be looking at me thinking I was very tacky in the hospital.

I was kept in both me and baby being monitored for GBS so when we did eventually get the ok I just picked them up, into the carseat and a blanket over and left. I honestly couldnt tell you whan mine came home wearing.

@SoloDance GrinGrinGrinGrin

'Nobody puts baby in a tutu' thanks for the chuckle Grin

elevenclips · 23/04/2017 21:37

You can do whatever you want if you have the time and money and it isn't detrimental to your baby.

Personally I think that putting a tutu on a baby is a strange choice. Babies should be completely comfortable in a vest/babygro. Not have load of random scratchy material round them.

228agreenend · 23/04/2017 21:37

I bought a new outfit for when my dcs came home from hospital so I don't think, that's a tacky idea.

Not keen on the tutus tough. Boy outfits are okay, especially the bear one.

Vinorosso74 · 23/04/2017 21:37

I thought that too Queenarse but then thought at least have a decent borough on them Wink.
Outfits not really to my taste. DD came home in plain white babygro and cardie as I didn't know what variety I was having nor had I thought that much about it. My main concern was all the speed bumps on the drive home. Ouch.
The girl outfits are too frilly and nylon looking for a new baby. Boy ones at least look comfy.

NapQueen · 23/04/2017 21:37

If I saw a newborn in hospital wearing a tutu Id think "aww a lovely brand new baby how cute, but what the fuck has her mother put her in? How uncomfortable. Shove a onesie on her and get over yourself"

SomeRiseBySin · 23/04/2017 21:38

They are really truly and genuinely awful.

Poor wee babies.

HonorBright · 23/04/2017 21:38

What a creative way of promoting your etsy store Hmm

PinkSquash · 23/04/2017 21:38

I don't think anyone cares what you put your baby in, when you leave hospital as long as they're safe.

Tutus are wasted on babies.

CosmoKlit · 23/04/2017 21:39

Curious - you know with the tutu - how do you deal with the newborn exploding poo removal from the tutu?

Butteredparsnip1ps · 23/04/2017 21:41

Are you selling them OP?

RJnomore1 · 23/04/2017 21:41

I HATE the girl ones.

I love the black and white stars one though.

I had pooh bear themed outfits for both my girls to come in. Don't see a problem with having something. Just not thosecparticular ones for girls.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 23/04/2017 21:42

What a clever way to advertise.....Confused

MrsJBaptiste · 23/04/2017 21:43

My two just came home from hospital in a nice babygro. Well, DS1 would have but we had a poonami 10 mins before leaving so he came home in one that wasn't quite so nice...

CasperGutman · 23/04/2017 21:44

The girl outfits are hideously tacky, and look very uncomfortable to wear.

My children all came home from hospital in whatever they happened to be wearing when released from hospital.

The only outfit I definitely remember is DD1's. In her case, the car was parked a walk away form the postnatal ward and the bags had been loaded into the car when DD had a massive shit all over everything she had on. So, she went home wrapped in a muslin under a snow suit!

FurryLittleTwerp · 23/04/2017 21:44

who is it all for?

I imagine pictures of uncomfortable babies on social media & lots of 'Gorjus Hun' comments...

horrible outfits - sorry

muckypup73 · 23/04/2017 21:45

SaucyJack, lmao
