To put my baby's in birth arrival outfits?

When I take my children home from the hospital, I have always had a special outfit for them and will again have one for this baby. Been reading some old threads and people think this is tacky. I really don't know why!
Is it that bad of an idea? I like getting a few photos!

This is an advert right?

liadaintheirishpoetess · 23/04/2017 21:26

I'm not a gypsy no. I do like tutus and things though. And I have no idea about that pram so please don't link me to a troll. And, those bow ties weren't in our set when we bought them, I've never put a headband on my children.

Boys ones look cute but the girls tutu and bling ones? Sorry but they look so tacky!
A cute babygro is all you need.
Ex mil got dd a frilly dress to come home in but she peed all over it when I got her in the house, shame 😁

liadaintheirishpoetess · 23/04/2017 21:27

I'm not an ad. LET US PLEASE STATE THAT I INCLUDED ABOVE PHOTOS FOR EXAMPLES. I DO NOT HAVE ANY AFFILIATION WITH ETSY AT ALL APART FROM BEING A FOND BUYER.

Looks like a stealth Ad to me.

QueenArseClangers · 23/04/2017 21:27

The 'boy' Ines are lovely but the tutu ones are horrible for a newborn. How the fuck do you get them in a car seat?
And why do they have an advert for a London Borough on them? Confused

Shitonmyshoe · 23/04/2017 21:28

Not wishing to be mean but what about babies comfort? A nice cotton baby grow is perfect. Never heard of this before and I'm frankly bewildered Hmm

Crunchymum · 23/04/2017 21:28

Bizarre that you have managed to get all your kids kitted out in stuff they (currently) sell on Etsy?

I assu

Parker231 · 23/04/2017 21:28

Op - Wouldn't a new born be more comfortable in a sleep Suit? Some of those outfits look really uncomfortable for a baby lying down all the time.

SoloDance · 23/04/2017 21:29

I seem to be in a permanent state of bewilderment these days.

Peanutandphoenix · 23/04/2017 21:29

I like the 3 DS outfits they are cute but the other ones look really tacky and horrible.

usernumbernine · 23/04/2017 21:29

Those are grim. Sorry.

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 23/04/2017 21:30

You can dress your children however you like. Does this mean that you decide their names in advance to get personalised stuff ordered in? I find that weird. What if they don't look like a Bexley, or whatever?

liadaintheirishpoetess · 23/04/2017 21:30

Ok, so general consensus is no.

No one puts baby in a tutu
Oh oh bravo.

Thread done.

SuperBeagle · 23/04/2017 21:30

It's so American, and that's why it's tacky.

NorthernLurker · 23/04/2017 21:31

Funny you need to use links for products for sale rather than cropped pics of your own babies.

liadaintheirishpoetess · 23/04/2017 21:31

@TestingTestingWonTooFree
I didn't get those ones, so they weren't personalised. My children's names were decided in advance though.

I'll get the op edited and delete the examples.

My three girls all came home in the same outfit. It was a little top and some trousers. And I put a vest underneath. I'm not sure I'd go for some crazy tutu tho.

Crumbs1 · 23/04/2017 21:33

Sorry ghastly.
Why not a simple plain cotton babygrow? White is nice with a little appliqué quilted jacket.

NapQueen · 23/04/2017 21:33

No way will a baby fit safely in a carseat with that much taffetta around their hips.

Wando1986 · 23/04/2017 21:33

Tacky. Ours is going home in a white babygrow with grey bunnies on it from M&P.

Monkeydust · 23/04/2017 21:34

My daughter came home in a megadeth onesie and my son came home in a slayer onesie

Its your call

SomethingBorrowed · 23/04/2017 21:34

It's fine. Not my taste but the idea of a special outfit is cute.
