To still want a Big Yellow Teapot?

Inspired by the thread about childhood toys

I had one. It was my pride and joy. My bitch of a DM smashed it up in front of me.

Does ANYWHERE still sell them?

I also collected cabbage patch kids and at one point had 60! Still have many of them My sister had a popple.

My DCs love my big yellow teapot and the Fisher Price village. The actual village with bridge, airport, house and my school from the later 80s are still in service and loved. The campervan is missing, probably buried in DM's hoard. Sadly the garage was disposed of following a lend to extended family. I was so excited when I saw one in a random museum/ collection in France!

Even at Christmas, their new toys quickly fall by the wayside in favour of my childhood toys. Plus DS2's favourite bear is one of my old favourites!

Barebum!!! That's it!! OMG I loved that, the little grays with the compartments and everything...that has made my evening 😍

wiccamum · 19/04/2017 22:16

Sorry, trays not "grays"... I was so excited I couldn't type 😁

Can you remember those boards with loads of holes? They had a light behind them, and you "drew" on the board with things whi h looked like stixklebricks to make the lights shine through ?

Have you SEEN the price of a genuine stickle brick these days! LOL

I LOVED lolly pocket! And I had a keyper it was a snail and I seem to recall it was called footloose and it's friend was called fancy!

All roads - you sound lovely and very fun and I hope you get your teapot!

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 19/04/2017 22:26

I had the turtle and his friend was a frog I think!

Fuck me running, how childish am I? 😂

My DD turned 11 and gave my keyper footloose back. It didn't go into the charity pile...I'm keeping it for me. So glad I'm not nuts I'm not the only one hankering after memories!

See I KNOW there's a serious and psychological side to all this...crap childhood, yadda yadda- I actually ventured onto the SH thread earlier. But I'm that annoying Pollyfuckinganna person who makes light of everything, takes the piss, etc. I sort of like this side of me! I'm curled up watching Curly Sue atm too- another blast from the past! Sod the serious side! 😂
