Inspired by the thread about childhood toys

I had one. It was my pride and joy. My bitch of a DM smashed it up in front of me.

Does ANYWHERE still sell them?

They've got them on EBay. I'm sorry your not so 'd' m did that to you.

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 19/04/2017 15:37

Cheshire I've been a lurker on there for some time. I HONESTLY didn't mean to derail (is it possible to derail my own thread). I was just inspired by the thread about childhood toys earlier. Flowers

Oh my god. TONS of memories just came flooding back from reading the title of this thread. Didn't have one at home but there was one at school and I bloody LOVED it!!

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 19/04/2017 15:43

And those pens which changed color when you scribbled over a white type of ink with them...

Polly Pockets, though my dolls are under the floor as they fell through a crack. My mum is selling her house so might have to take the floor apart and retrieve them (buyers will demolish and will not care!).

Oldraver · 19/04/2017 16:11

I still have a Big Red Funbus. I bought it new for DS2 (11) as DS1 (30) had loved his.

It does tyend to fall apart a bit though

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 19/04/2017 16:20

KEYPERS!!!!!

And does anyone remember Popples? I honestly can't remember whether I had one from here or America. (Spent a lot of time in The States, and sometimes I can bang on about things that no one has a clue about...Hap Palmer anyone?)

Glassseahorse, yes mine wasn't that bad. I seem to recall friends who had a Mr F saying it was a bit crap, but this one had some metal component to the blades...even I thought it was a bit iffy, but it worked for a while. To be fair though we were all pissed on vodka slushies so there you go!

Maudlinmaud · 19/04/2017 16:24

I've got my big yellow teapot, I posted about it on a toy thread few months ago. The dc do not touch it, it's mine!

Bananalanacake · 19/04/2017 16:28

Yes, I've still got my popples.

ArabellaRockerfella · 19/04/2017 16:30

I always wanted a Cabbage Patch Kid but was never allowed one :(
Last year I found my childhood Baby Beans doll which I was devoted to but left on holiday when I was about 7yrs old. I mourned for that doll for so long, well, I just had to buy it! It is in mint condition 1970's!!
It sits on my desk and makes me smile every day!

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 19/04/2017 16:33

DH bought me a cabbage patch doll last year! 😂

wicca I had one of the Post Offices too, it was a clear favourite. Just bought thiss* for DD's birthday. It's ace, the postcards etc are wipe clean so you can reuse Grin

picklemepopcorn · 19/04/2017 16:40

I wish I still had the fisher price motor home. There was an upturned boat on the roof, and a motor bike on the back. I'd actually like a real motor home like that, for that matter!

Foxsox · 19/04/2017 17:38

I can help OP! I've pm'd you

Still got my yellow teapot and tree house...my kids love them. Also have a Morgan major and various other bits my mum decided to keep! I have started storing my kids awesome things too ( to surprise them when they have a family ) as I had no idea my mum had my things hidden away! It was a very emotional reunion!! Hard what to know what to keep now though...

MycatsaPirate · 19/04/2017 20:16

I always wanted the Teapot and the treehouse. I craved the treehouse.

Never got either though.

My oldest DD went through a Polly Pocket stage when she was young and I scoured Ebay for originals. We have a huge box of them under DD2's bed now. With the original tiny people instead of the lego sized people they brought out later. I love them!!

I also have all the original Noddy books with the golliwogs in and my Madame Cholet (sp) womble.

Car boot sales are where I find all our vintage toys! Just this past year I have found my big yellow teapot, boot school, Fisher Price motor home and so much more, and I've not paid any more than a couple of quid for any of it!

zwellers · 19/04/2017 20:31

I got be big yellow teapot from a charity shop a few years ago. Was soo happy as really wanted one as a kid. Confession was so jealous a classmate bought a big yellow to school one toys day I swiped the family and hid them!

BareBum · 19/04/2017 20:39

Wiccamum, I had the airline thing and the post office. I've never known anyone else to have the airline. So excited to read your post.

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 19/04/2017 20:44

Sorry- small toaster fire!

What were those dogs called that you could put your hand in the back of their heads and make them "talk"?

OP posts:
MimsyBorogroves · 19/04/2017 21:07

I may have 2, if my mum still has them both (car boot sale purchases)

I think they are still both boxed and almost complete. If you're interested in one let me know and I will check with her if she still has them. Smile

Toddlerteaplease · 19/04/2017 21:13

I had one as a toddler and then saw one in a junk shop last year. Turns out my parents had kept mine. ( it was associated with one of their favourite moments when I was a toddler) I was so touched that they'd kept it. It's in my spare room.
