To ask which washing machine you recommend?

As mine has broken at the worst time! It's old though! I'm looking around the 300 pounds mark. Thanks!

Oh and do I win some sort of prize for most boring thread so far?

aeg but really any with at least 5 year warranty - usually from john lewis but think last one was currys as it was on offer

I have a 9kg Beko. It was about 270 a few years ago. Has a quick wash and an ultra quick wash which i use most frequently plus many others. From AO.. Ordered Saturday evening, delivered by 8am Sunday. Would definitely buy another.

I've got a Beko and again through AO. I was really impressed with them when I bought 3 years ago. And the machine has been quite reliable so far.

I enjoyed having a large capacity Beko while it lasted (maybe 6-8 years I forget how long?). Managed to discover a Miele outlet shop when it needed replacing though - had to compromise on features but hoping it will last longer than the last 2 ...

Please dont get a beko. We had a beko fridge freezer, crap lasted 2 years. We had a beko dishwasher. Crap lasted 2 years as well. I would have said hotpoint but since the recall not sure. I like the samsung stuff. Good luck with your choice either way OP.

I've had Bosch before but opted for a Beko when it broke. The Beko has been great, no issues at all.

If you can stretch to a Miele, or can find one in your budget at the factory outlet, I'd definitely recommend doing that.

Our Miele is 17 years old now!

Not AEG. These days they're just Zanussi (sp?) under a different name. Ours has broken down twice in 6 years. It has also been completely replaced. It has a minutes left thing on the screen but it bears no relation to how long the wash actually takes. It's very noisy too.

And Curry's were dire too. We've sworn to never use them again. When it broke irreparably they tried to fob us off with the display model. It had a massive dent in it.

We've used ao.com for other things and they've been excellent.

Agree with the others - Beko are the worst. Among a string of problems, the most ridiculous are things like the numbers washing off the displays. I only ever bought beko because they are so cheap for rental properties but you get what you pay for.

Probably even worse as beko have a history of catching fire, don't they?

Thanks so much! Definitely can't afford a Miele even at a discount. I'm a single parent and we're moving soon so no spare cash!
Looks like I'll probably flip a coin between Beko and Bosch!

Don't get a hotpoint. I had a hoover that lasted a long time. Also had good experiences with zanussi a long time ago, but not sure what they are like now. We had to get a new one last year and Which recommended a Samsung...we really like it too

Beko are great for the price. Have had a Beko fridge for 7 years and had an induction hob for 6 years - only had to replace it when it got broken by something falling on it. Their dryers get really good reviews.

And only a particular batch of a particular model of Beko Fridge Freezer had the catching fire problem. No worse than a whole raft of mainstream brand dryers, there, or even pricey UK made Ebac dehumidifiers.

Beko are made in turkey. I'd buy British first and European second. Why buy Turkish? Probably find they're using some refugee children to make them as we found out from that documentary with m&s clothes.

I got a hotpoint last year, it was £240 and it's brilliant! Has loads of programmes and I think it's 8k
My favourite feature is the time delay.. so I can set it to come on at 5am then hang the wash out before I go to work! It's the little things that make me happy lol

I love my Miele, mother and mother in law both have them and they're ancient. Mine is only 3 and I hope it lasts as long as theirs. It's super!

You should be able to get an older reconditioned one for around £200/300.

AEG and Bosch. I've had good experiences with both, but recommend Miele if you can stretch that far. Not easy when it suddenly dies, I know. I got a discontinued, fairly basic model by Miele's standards, that was a bit of a push, but am glad I bought it.
