I wouldn't buy it OP, mainly because KT Road is so busy at all times of day. I think you could do better, particularly if you sacrificed the third bedroom (given the lodger isn't critical).

Head towards Tufnell Park and Dartmouth Park perhaps. It's lovely to be near the Heath.

OP doesn't seem to be coming back. Toofewshoes Crouch End has a regular bus that goes to Trafalgar Square via King's Cross and Oxford St - if that's not "into town" I'm not sure what is...

And stop telling people to STFU - it's a discussion forum.

I accept that was a little confrontational of me CrypticDrip so I'll rephrase: do you have any advice based on personal experience of living in London to offer people like the OP who want to live in London?

limitedperiodonly · 19/04/2017 12:49

Limited that place is nice.

What, that £32 million one AvaCrowder? It is nice but a bit too big for me. It's a very quiet road at the front but the back garden is right on a busy pavement of gawping tourists. I'd put up with it, but I'm a bit of an exhibitionist. I feel most people on Mumsnet, who get conniptions about people parking too close to their driveways, wouldn't like it.

AvaCrowder2 · 20/04/2017 02:18

I've already said that I'm priced out of London. I hate that people own the property who don't live there. It's not what the capital is about.

hellokittymania · 20/04/2017 02:37

It must be looking for flat day, as I am viewing a flat on Finchley Road tomorrow. I am still looking around though.

None whatsoever. Which is why I have not offered any advice or opinion on property, location or price. My only contribution was to point out that southern dwellers are just as guilty of making unwelcome comments about properties in the NotSouth (geographical term!).

This thread is interesting to me because it's about my capital city - a place I love to visit - so no London bashing from me.

floraeasy · 28/04/2017 13:38

Did you go for the flat, OP?

I'd give almost anything to live in London again. I couldn't afford to buy when I was there, and I sure as hell can't afford to buy there now.

I wouldn't worry about the decor - you will make it your own in time.

I would be glad it's over a library or shop. You can make noise without worrying about the people below you in the evenings.
