I think Obama and Clinton are staying informed and analyzing things, but sitting back watching it all unfold. Not in a malicious 'give him enough rope, ha ha ha' way, but because neither of them is in a true position to actually do anything. Both Hillary and Barack know that they could bring stone tablets down from Mt Sinai and Trump would still never listen to them. Sure, they have contacts and they could talk to them but what good will it do when they know that any diplomatic solution they come up with, no matter how sensible, will be thrown down and stomped in the mud by Trump and Co?

No, I think they realize that they will have to wait until they are asked. And that won't be until the Trump regime has either actually fallen or Congress has united and started pushing back hard.

I agree about the 'keeping informed but watching' stuff.
