On the question of separate bedrooms in the WH for POTUS and FLOTUS, actually that hasn't been a formal arrangement from many years (since the Nixons left, I believe.) What used to be the president's bedroom was turned into a living room in the Ford administration and has been ever since. Now it's possible that it has been changed back again but I doubt it. There are of course other rooms that FLOTUS could sleep in, but the main ones (Lincoln bedroom and Queen's bedroom) are really more like semi-state guest rooms. The living quarters of the WH are actually rather intimate for a head-of-state residence.

See this link for some great history of the WH. On the floor plan, the room marked "Living Room" is the room that used to be the president's bedroom; the master bedroom was traditionally for FLOTUS, even though it was sometimes called the president's bedroom. If you click on each room you can see pictures of the rooms through the years.

Unfortunately for me, I do have to sleep in the same US state that he is often in. The weather's warming up though. And Palm Beach is not a fashionable place to be in the summer.
