To think if you're going to make a cake for my son's birthday, you don't make one like this!?

I'm guessing it's supposed to be some kind of funny joke but I had a lot of bloody miserable kids who got no cake, especially a very upset 7 year old. All the other parents found it funny (or were just being polite) it was a disaster.

I actually think it looks really cool, but it is just such a weird thing to do. I mean I can see doing it as a joke with my 16 year old who loves watermelon (and then bringing out the real cake), but for a child?

It's just so bizarre, I'm sitting here shaking my head. I keep looking at the picture again just to see if I missed anything. Nope!

ShakingAndShocked · 09/04/2017 16:19

Though I will keep in mind if I am ever invited to the birthday party of a transactivist, I will then tell them that the watermelon identifies as cake

I loves you Grin

.

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 09/04/2017 16:20

Blimey, is this for real? That is such a nasty thing to do to a child.

Cagliostro · 09/04/2017 16:20

Wow what a cow. Even if you love melon you would quite reasonably expect an actual cake! She could have done it as an extra.

I did this melon monster for DD's party :o Blush but she still got a shop bought cake FFS! They only have one birthday a year :(

Cagliostro · 09/04/2017 16:21

Pic would help

AllTheWittyNamesAreGone · 09/04/2017 16:23

Melon monster is awesome^^

Glossolalia · 09/04/2017 16:28

Oh I get it now. She's horrible. What a nasty thing to do.

Lilicat1013 · 09/04/2017 16:32

What a bitch, seeing the update I would have thrown it at her. I hope your son got an actual cake in the end.

I love the melon monster, that is awesome.

Gaaaah · 09/04/2017 16:34

Just seen the update...what a bitch. I'd have dumped the fucking thing on her head in her lap ffs!

ohfourfoxache · 09/04/2017 16:39

Bloody hell, what a cow Shock

Aeroflotgirl · 09/04/2017 16:41

That's a really nasty thing to do for a child, who was expecting a cake.

Aeroflotgirl · 09/04/2017 16:42

Omg she was having a dig at his behaviour, she would not be my friend anymore, who does this to a child Shock.

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 09/04/2017 16:43

Nasty thing to do, especially as it now seems to be used as a dig at your DC. I'd be distancing the whole family from her.

TooGood2BeFalse · 09/04/2017 16:59

YANBU my son would be gutted. He wouldn't complain out loud, he's a polite little man, but he would be really sad :-(

weddingopinionsplease · 09/04/2017 17:03

So she's just a bitch then? Throw the fucking melon at her.

LostMyDotBrain · 09/04/2017 17:22

Tell me you threw her out? Offering to do a kid's birthday cake then turning up with a bit of fruit and having a dig about the child's behaviour is unfathomable cuntiness.

Underthemoonlight · 09/04/2017 17:26

I hope you threw her out that's appaulling behaviour to do against a 7 year old on his birthday

Jux · 09/04/2017 18:00

Bitch.

Make every effort to make digs at her, and whenever someone she knows has a birthday ask them, in front of her, if she's making the cake "because we all know what your cakes are like, eh cousin? ha ha ha".

TheWhiteRoseOfYork · 09/04/2017 18:04

It would have just about been ok as a table decoration, or as something handy to stick pineapple & cheese into although I'd be tempted to stick them up her arse but as a cake??? As for that comment about sugar- snooty cow can just get lost. I've had similar about my kids, it feels like shit! Have some Cake for you and your boy!

user1471558436 · 09/04/2017 18:15

It wasn't a kind thing to do.

However if your buffet has other sweet stuff, hopefully that will soften the blow

SuperFlyHigh · 09/04/2017 18:18

What a fucking bitch (mostly due to your update with the nasty, spiteful and unnecessary comment but also due to the "cake"). I'd be rethinking my relationship with her as you said she was a cousin and would be limiting contact (like completely never again) with her. What a disgusting example to set/show her kids too.

Oh and I'd probably cry if I got that cake too no not really but I may sulk a little bit!

SuperFlyHigh · 09/04/2017 18:20

tell me you threw her out and evented a new party game where you throw watermelon slices at nasty friend/cousin as she scarpers Grin

Roomster101 · 09/04/2017 18:24

She is either very odd or she is a really nasty piece of work. Have you never noticed this about her before? I feel sorry for her children.

Noodledoodledoo · 09/04/2017 20:40

Our local Montessori mums seem to like to out do themselves with items like these - a friends little one goes and she always likes the pictures. Latest was an orange monkey climbing up a pineapple palm tree!!!

I also hope your son threw a memorable strop. Thats just mean.
