He should have read his history just a little more carefully.

AcrossthePond55 · 05/04/2017 17:09

Oh WOW WOW WOW!! It's true!

abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-counselor-steve-bannon-removed-national-security-council/story?id=46596244

Not a lot of info on the link, developing story!

Thanks for the good news Ginger

Kusher 1. Bannon 0

AllMyBestFriendsAreMetalheads · 05/04/2017 17:12

That video is phenomonal Grin

I must admit, I saw the breaking news flash up at the bottom about Bannon and instead of clicking on the link I came here instead because this is my first port of call for all #SCROTUS news.

Lweji · 05/04/2017 17:15

Was that the council he, Bannon, sneaked his name in?

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 05/04/2017 17:17

Another happy piece of news. Grin

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 05/04/2017 17:18

Do we think this news is linked with all the Russian stuff? That Bannon may be compromised?

Lweji · 05/04/2017 17:19

Obama asked Republican Congress for approval to attack Syria in 2013

So... GOP is to blame for the chemical weapons attack.

Lweji · 05/04/2017 17:20

That Security Council thing is somewhat old. IIRC, Trump didn't like that Bannon got himself there. It could be unrelated to Russia.

AcrossthePond55 · 05/04/2017 17:22

Yes, Lweji. He put Bannon in and removed the head of national security and the joint chiefs of staff.

I'm doing the happy dance. I think the only reason this has happened is that some Shit is about to hit the fan about Bannon. I mean, his appointment hasn't been on the front new burners for quite a while. Nor has he said anything recently that has prompted the masses to scream for his blood.

No, there's more to this than meets the eye. And it's got to be something he's said or done in the past.

Of course, maybe he just put too much milk in Trump's coffee or something. I'm sure that would prompt a tantrum and a 'You're FIRED!".

Yes it was! I saw a while back that Breitbart didn't get their press pass and of course Bannon had been upsetting the rightwing of the GOP by trying to order them to vote for the healthcare changes. I suspect he is simply in way get over his head. Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/04/2017 17:23

Bannon being discussed on BBC Radio 4 'PM' now...

Lweji · 05/04/2017 17:24

But Trump signed something that he later said he didn't realise left out heads and put Bannon in, didn't he? It sounded like an underhand move by Bannon, and more evidence that Trump doesn't read what he signs, or was (again) lying.
This would be putting things right.

BiglyBadgers · 05/04/2017 17:25

And as others have said he is up to his eyeballs in the whole Russia business. He is compromised and hopeless.

GingerIvy · 05/04/2017 17:27

There's been some serious questions popping up about Bannon and when he actually left Breitbart, as he was receiving pay for longer than he claims he was there. Unknown if it's related to that though.

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/04/2017 17:28

Unclear why this is happening now...

McMaster seems to be gaining control and may be behind Bannon ousting...

GingerIvy · 05/04/2017 17:30

My only concern is what Bannon is doing NOW, if he's not doing that. Hmm

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 05/04/2017 17:39

Bannon being discussed on BBC Radio 4 'PM' now...

And?

cozietoesie · 05/04/2017 17:39

Bannon will be sidelined soon enough.

Roussette · 05/04/2017 17:41

Good news on Bannon, we needed some

DT's approval rating has dropped again to 35% and only 34% think he is honest, another drop. More good news.

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/04/2017 17:43

What I said at 17:28 Mortificado - not clear why as yet but possibility McMaster wanted him out.

I am waiting for further reports to be conveyed here from the Twittersphere Grin

lionheart · 05/04/2017 17:53

He is only out of the NSC.

Can't imagine the Trump camp making any move for the good of the country unless their hands are forced.

Gumpendorf · 05/04/2017 17:56

Away from Bannon, Trump describes Susan Rice's actions as one of the big stories of our time and defends Bill O'Reilly.

mobile.nytimes.com/2017/04/05/us/politics/trump-interview-susan-rice.html?smid=tw-nytimes&smtyp=cur&referer=

I was wondering if Bannon is about to be ditched as he, Miller and Conway are the closest of the senior staff to the Russian connections.

Trump takes the Mark Cuban line that he didn't know what others were doing. Ivana and Jared essentially become deputy presidents and the kleptocracy rolls on.

AcrossthePond55 · 05/04/2017 18:01

Waiting for the news conference to break in, but I have a feeling it's just going to be Scrotus and King Abdullah 'making nice' after their meeting. If any one raises a question about Bannon, it's going to be deflected as 'not what we're here about'.

OP posts:
AcrossthePond55 · 05/04/2017 18:15

Conference on. What a crock.

I bet it kills Trump to call Abdullah 'Your Majesty' whilst being referred to as 'only' Mr President.
