Re the donation of salary to the Parks Service, my (desperately unworthy, I know) suspicion is that they'll parlay that into the publicity for the Easter Egg Roll - a sort of 'El Presidente gives up his salary for the children' sort of thing.

I think i just be getting overly cynical in my old age cozie because i sort of figured that you couldn't get into power and then stay their for 2 terms without finding yourself involved in at least some sort of low level unpleasant dealings at some point. Even if it was just poor decision making that could be spun to look dirty. Clinton has been involved in politics for ever and the worst they could come up with on her was that someone who once spoke to someone in her campaign team had at some point seen a russian (that was pretty much it i think). I find myself increasingly impressed by the Obama administration team and not just in contrast to the Trump lot. As you say, they seem to have genuinly been amazingly uncorrupted. It gives me hope, it really does.

I think you are right cozie. When you are up to your eyeballs in shit i imagine you assume everyone else is too. It must be terrifying to realise that the previous government, who you had shouted about being a filthy swamp, really is not dirty at all and all their digging only serves to demonstrate just how currupt trump is in comparison. It also explains why Obama is just swanning about looking rather pleased with himself. There is nothing quite as relaxing as having a clear conscience.
