Calorie police? This isn't carb free, it's Mother's Day. Any present 🎁 gratefully received.
And yes I support carb free, is that's your choice, but to bring it up on a general thread? About Mother's Day? Hmm

explodingkittens · 25/03/2017 16:31

Well as ds isn't going to be here tomorrow I shall get feck all, so would be chuffed to bits with scrambled egg and croissants and cake or whatever. Meh.

Am Shock Grin that the OP has looked up the calorie value of croissants though. Who gives a fuck, seriously?

This place is bonkers today.

MrsScrubbingbrush · 25/03/2017 16:32

I'd settle for a cuppa & toast in bed at a reasonable time.

However, the DDs (11) are taking part in a special Mothers' Day church service with the Guides & we have to be there for 9.15am 😒. Guess who'll be getting up first to make sure everyone is ready on time (a clue...not DP). The DDs take after DP and are not 'morning people'

Not only that the clocks go forward & we lose an hour in bed😡

Ho hum I guess I'll have to wait for my birthday!

AwaywiththePixies27 · 25/03/2017 16:33

Just the croissant is 300 cal apparently

Katie Hopkins, is that you? Hmm Grin

Nope. Sorry can't get too worked up about it. It's a nice treat for mothers day. It's not like they've bought her kebab and chips for breakfast.

HemanOrSheRa · 25/03/2017 16:37

This place is bonkers today. It'll be even worse tomorrow kittens Grin.

Belfastbird · 25/03/2017 16:39

My kids are downstairs making me "surprise" loom band bracelets cos dh has fecked off for the weekend & done sweet fa. I'll just be happy if they manage a day without arguing!

exLtEveDallas · 25/03/2017 16:39

Going on past experience I will get sausage bacon egg beans black pudding toast and mushrooms. Oh and a cup of tea.

DD will have made me a card but not finished it and DH will buy me s lovely bunch of blue lilies from Tesco.

And I'll be overjoyed Smile

(Then I will prepare dinner before setting off to watch DD in yet another netball tournament - I say watch, but actually she'll send me to sit in the car after the first 15 mins. So at least I'll have some peace and quiet in which to read my book!)

GeorgeTheHamster · 25/03/2017 16:40

Madison - he's lying on his bed you say?
Bang on the door and remind him again!!
He's old enough to know better.
It's not even as if any thought is required - all the supermarkets are full of pink flowers 💐

d270r0 · 25/03/2017 16:44

Sounds ok to me

explodingkittens · 25/03/2017 16:50

Heman, yep, can't wait for tomorrow's influx of AIBU threads - 'AIBU to be annoyed that my Mother's Day breakfast came in at over 1000 calories???' Grin

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 25/03/2017 16:51

I just wanted a card written by my son who has some motor issues and has found writing hard and school provided that.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 25/03/2017 16:51

oh, and a lie in lol

ghostyslovesheets · 25/03/2017 16:57

jeeez OP your birthdays must be a treat - please darlings surprise me with a cake made of dust and some kibble - thanks

who cares if bread has 80 cals in it - you do actually NEED calories to exist

you sound like a bit of a food obsessed killjoy to be honest

Meluzyna · 25/03/2017 17:16

My DH doesn't believe in breakfast in bed. Sniff.
I was going to say not once in 30 years. Then I remembered. Twice in thirty years: the two mornings after I gave birth during the night.

The children are a long way away: I'm not expecting anything tomorrow. Well at least I won't be disappointed.

TheNaze73 · 25/03/2017 17:17

Really??? Confused

juicygirly · 25/03/2017 17:19

Give the poor op a breakHmm

Yes op I wholeheartedly agree that all the shite promoted for Mother's Day is low quality and mostly pointless shit basically. Breakfast in bed would make me twitch about the bedsheets anyway Grin

My girls have made me cards and one has made a clay heart thing at school. While I can flat pack the cards away, what am I supposed to do with the clay heart that crumbles everywhere. Maybe I just hate tat and mess and clutter though.

Anniegetyourgun · 25/03/2017 17:26

It's not like they've bought her kebab and chips for breakfast

I'm sure I could do that justice, given the opportunity. I did have scrambled eggs and toast yesterday (for dinner, just to be weird), but I had to make it myself as the Chief Egg Scrambler is down with the dreaded lurgi.

Alas, I won't be spoiled tomorrow because I can't get the day off work. DIL is also working, so they moved the traditional joint celebration to today. But I couldn't get today off work either. Pooh. The chocolates they gave me in advance last week have been long eaten.

manicinsomniac · 25/03/2017 17:36

jdoe - you've got to remember that a lot (maybe even the majority) of women don't have a hugely fucked up relationship with food. I totally sympathise with you in that that tray of food would be out of the question for me. Even looking at the photo makes me feel panicky. I would know and freak out about every single calorie, fat, carb and sugar gram. But that's not normal. Normal is enjoying any food that is brought to you with love and thought. I don't imagine many people would eat the cakes or the chocolate for breakfast; they'd save them. But the eggs on toast, croissant and smoothie - well, it's a big breakfast but it's not obscene.

There's nothing wrong in having reasonably strict food rules for yourself and there's nothing shameful in having unreasonable food issues. But it's silly to word them as if they are the normal and correct way to be.

MongerTruffle · 25/03/2017 17:44

WeAllHaveWings

Ferrero Rocher are definitely still nice!

user1489226029 · 25/03/2017 17:48

Is a croissant really 300 calories??? No wonder I have put on a few pounds lately as I usually eat two at a time!!!!! Sainsbury with the gin, face cream, etc brilliant!!!!! I'll be lucky to get a card but here's hopingSmile

wineandsunshine · 25/03/2017 17:52

I've asked for a three course meal...prawn cocktail, roast chicken and lemon meringue...bliss!

Beeziekn33ze · 25/03/2017 17:54

Tomorrow - 💐

ThouShallNotPass · 25/03/2017 17:55

I'd feel sick but it would be worth it... Wink

APlaceOnTheCouch · 25/03/2017 17:56

tomorrow I love your post. Well done your DS. You must be so proud Flowers

upperlimit · 25/03/2017 17:59

You need all that food because the dc hop into bed with you to help you eat it. The best you can do is to hold on to the croissant with your best kung-fu grip and hope for the best.
