It's much improved (apparently) but quite honestly I feel sick at the thought of walking in the place. WIBU to say sorry kids, anywhere but there? It's a while off yet.

If you think people trying to help you when you are being unreasonable are being rude then maybe AIBU isn't the place to post.

Did you think everyone would tell you you are being perfectly sensible and not at all unreasonable?

Facebook is good for that.

I think YABU to not let them go there if they want to. Only because this is your issue, not theirs. If they asked you why they couldn't go and you said "Because I have bad memories from that place", I'm not sure that would be sending a good message - i.e. completely avoid anything that you don't like.

I also don't see how you can say "I just can't see them being happy there". Based on what? Your own experience of completely different people who went there over a decade ago?

You obviously had horrid times there, but you are no longer at the mercy of anyone there, and you would be in control this time!

Theres been a few threads like that lately.

If people want nothing but yes yes support and 'inbox me hun' then post a vague status on facebook and watch the sympathy roll in.

wonders if MrsTwix went to my school

MrsT. It's not what you said, it's how you said it.

You mentioned something I've no idea about and smugly added 'or would you rather wreck your kids lives' or words to that effect. Obviously that put me on the defensive!

Unless whatever you've linked to is free, can go on for years and runs evenings and weekends I can't access it. I'll have a look in a min.

Dil - why does it need to go on for years?

dilemmmmmma · 25/03/2017 17:47

I guess cause there would be a LOT to get through! I've had counselling before and didn't feel any different. I'm happy enough anyway but the school brings back such awful memories I'd rather not bring them back.
