Channel 4 reporting him as suspect now.

Report
SquirmOfEels · 22/03/2017 19:35

It's on all main media now, sourced to the Met, who will have a high degree of confidence in the identification because as a former prisoner both DNA and fingerprints will be on record

Report
ButterflyFree · 22/03/2017 19:35

The Independent is reporting that his lawyer has been contacted and confirmed he's still in jail though, so it couldn't have been him...?

As far as I'm concerned everything is pure speculation until the Met Police announces officially.

I am in the U.S. and sorry to hear what has happened.

I don't understand - the news is saying one assailant, so did he drive the car over Westminster Bridge, hitting the people, and then run to parliament?

Report
Creampastry · 22/03/2017 19:37

He just carried on driving... knocking people down and running over them, until he go to Parliament.

Report
Believeitornot · 22/03/2017 19:38

Yes Parliament is literally at the end of the bridge.

Channel 4 no longer certain as Ibizideen actually in prison

Report
Derlei · 22/03/2017 19:42

The picture on the stretcher looks like him. Maybe that's why TM hasn't spoken yet. There's gonna be a lot of "how the hell was HE of all people able to do that" questions (if it is him). She's probably getting the answers to that shitting herself as we speak

And Britain First has called a demonstration for Saturday. Fucking great.

I hope they confirm whether the armed policeman gave a warning begore shooting and did that give any more chance for the murderer to kill the policeman who died.
At least the murderer won't go to prison to convert more young men to terrorism. So sad for the three dead innocents and all those injured. Just daw a young man who jumped out of the way of the driver giving a tv interview. So brave but clearly in shock. I wanted to hold him safe.

It's all very confusing and scary..I wonder if the trips of children were a deliberate target? Children were on trips from my area (south yorkshire) doesn't bare thinking about...Sad

They can just fuck off then can't they? Shower of useless cretins. Have a nice little march shall we? If they want to make themselves useful why don't they go and help the homeless or redecorate a local kids centre or retirement home?

Report
ifyoulikepinacolada · 22/03/2017 19:49

I don't think that children were the target halfshell. Parliament was the target.

Hi everyone,
Terrible day, and too many of them happening around the world right now. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected. Of course we completely understand the instinct to come here and talk about what's going on, indeed we share it, but if we could ask you just to show a bit of caution regarding naming people and overly speculating as to what's happening. Just tonight, for example, it looks like Channel 4 has already named Abu Izzadeen as the suspect and rowed back from it as they think he's actually still in prison, so it might be worth taking a more cautious approach to naming names in a developing news story such as this one.

Thank you Helen you echo my thoughts entirely

Did anyone see the junior doctor Colleen Anderson doing an interview?

www.dailymail.co.uk/video/news/video-1434191/Junior-doctor-talks-treating-police-officer-Westminster-shooting.html

Not so sure that information should have been released (that he was a police officer, in his thirties, head injury etc). Curious to know what others think? Surely medics have rules to follow with regards to press etc.

FlappinSwazy · 22/03/2017 20:07

HalfShellHero There's trips into London with school children everyday. If they wanted to target school children, they would have gone NHM as they lined up outside. I doubt they were the target. TM was supposedly 40 feet away from where the police officer was stabbed.

Report
ButterflyFree · 22/03/2017 20:12

Yes I found it very odd @FlappinSwazy - surely no hospital would appoint a Junior Doctor as an authorised spokesperson in the midst of such a crisis, so one can only assume that she spoke in an unauthorised capacity.

Report
Derlei · 22/03/2017 20:13

Flappin - I thought the same; she was very open and something that I'd not really seen before, she described the police officer's injuries in way too much detail in my opinion Confused

butterfly and Derlei sort of glad I am not the only one. I just found it really uneasy. I found it that way since she stated earlier about confirming death for the lady under the bus. I hadn't even realised a bus was involved.

Report
EZA15 · 22/03/2017 20:19

Flappin I said the exact same thing. I bet she's walked out for some air or a cigarette and they've pounced on her.

Report
ButterflyFree · 22/03/2017 20:20

I have a feeling she will end up in trouble for disclosing such information publicly because I can't imagine she was sanctioned to do so by the hospital. Therefore it raises serious ethical questions about breaking patient confidentiality.
