To shave my face?

I am 28 with blonde hair but i have quite noticeable facial hair. I keep seeing articles across social media about women shaving their face and that it's supposed to be brilliant for skin as it's essentially dermablading. The theory is that men look younger than women as they spend most of their life shaving, which in turn removes all the dead skin/exfoliates. AIBU to want to do this? Do any of you already shave your faces? Have you noticed any pros/cons? I don't want to add this to my beauty regime until I've heard from real women and not just the 'farticles' Grin

Another PCOS and hirtuism sufferer here. I'm with SilverMachine. I love mine and you can get them for under £1. I have 3, on upstairs, one downstairs and one always in my bag. I just sit and twiddle it when I'm watching TV/lying in bed before sleep etc.
It hurts at first, but I do it every day and because the hairs are new and fine they don't show up much and it's just a little sting on the odd stubborn one.
My skin is so smooth now, it looks 7million times better (only a slight exaggeration), and I'm so much more confident going anywhere where other people are.

Noooooo, don't do it OP. My Nanna started shaving during WWII - she is now 97 and because she isn't really up to it any more the results of a lifetime of shaving have caught up with her and she has A FULL BEARD. No kidding. She couldn't care less TBH, but she was fine until 50 or so then the stubble always showed (I'm in my 40's, but I can remember her having stubble when she kissed hello from when I was a kid). One of the few decent bits of advice my mum gave me was to never start shaving because there is no going back. Just say no OP!

Episticks are fab. Top lip stings like buggery but it's worth it. Cheap and effective.

Go for it. I do mine from time to time. It doesn't grow back any thicker or darker. Moisturiser sinks in better and make up goes on beautifully.

Bloko Here ☺

The wife is a qualified hair dresser and she moans at me when i say stuff about hair which isnt true... so no... hair does not grow back thicker if you cut it... hair appears thicker because you've cut off the point, thats why you get the split ends cut off so it can grow back into a point. Same with beards actually (although you can stimulate hair growth by running a razor over it)

I hate shaving and would rather go for laser (or grow it out... which i have 🎅)... lady friend preferes the waxing... at the end its personal choice

After watching this... m.youtube.com/watch?v=_10lRurODcA
AND getting advice from dermatologist, I decided to go ahead and shave my face. I recommend these... www.amazon.co.uk/Shaper-Removal-Dermaplaning-Portable-Eyebrows/dp/B00JODUKXQ?tag=mumsnetforum-21 All this talk about stubble and thicker hair growth is nonsense. Seriously save yourself a monthly fee (and pain and zits/breakouts) from full face threading every month. Face waxing and threading causes more trauma to skin. Plus, face threading isn't the most hygienic of practices. Some threaders hold the thread in their mouth between their teeth. Ugh to think of their saliva splattering onto your traumatised skin. Threaders don't always wash their hands and use alcohol gel between clients. When the thread snaps and they take thread from their mouth and start with another piece - do they clean their hands... not always! Kinda gross when you think about it. Face shaving is fine - don't be put off by the horror stories / old wives tales cos they simply ain't true. Go speak to a dermatologist if you need advice - professionals who know what their talking about.
