But, do we know for sure what the gender reassignment surgery entailed? The Sun says it cost 10k, but is that just speculation on their part, or do they actually know what surgery was done and have guessed the likely cost? The NHS website says it costs around £3,500 - £7,000 for breast implant surgery, but doesn’t say if that’s for one implant or two. Maybe The Sun took the middle of that range and doubled it. So it’s quite possible that this person still has intact male genitalia.

But of course that wouldn't matter, according to the current guidelines.

The only danger removed would be that of his impregnating his victims. Which I am sure especially women in prisons in Ireland would be relieved about, but no one would tell men to put up with sexual assault or rape because they can't get pregnant.

I am interested to know what will happen when this person, or someone similar, inevitably rapes a woman in prison. Will there be any backlash? Kit, I think is very likely that women victims of this nuttiness will be hushed up as much and as long as possible, newspapers and news stations will avoid covering them, and as much doubt thrown in claims of assault as possible to avoid the general public getting annoyed. Rather like the victims of the Cologne mass rapes. They will be really inconvenient facts.

The claim about 10k of surgery has been mentioned on another thread as information from the individual's mother of his first child. She also said the person loves to be the centre of attention and drama, and feels this is most of what is going on.

The worst thing about this is knowing that if a transwoman prisoner assaults an incarcerated woman, he is statistically very likely indeed to get away with it.
There might not be some of the factors that work against rape victims getting justice - alcohol probably wouldn't come into it - but you can imagine how easy it would be for the defence to destroy the credibility of a victim who is already a convicted criminal herself.

I'm in NI where the Pill is legal but my former GP refused to prescribe it and advised me to register with another GP if I wanted "that sort of thing".
