Trump asking for money (and monthly donations) is not news. He does it at the end of every "poll".

Lweji · 23/03/2017 16:36

AcrossthePond55

Yes, it's not even as if he single-handedly fought the attacker.

Not like those other americans in the train.

He was an unfortunate victim.

Lweji · 23/03/2017 16:38

"In the case of a Presidential candidate running in various State primaries, you may contribute up to $2,700 for the entire primary campaign period"

2700 is the maximum amount he can ask for.

annandale · 23/03/2017 16:41

Oh God. Reading those comments on the fB page and obviously Trump will be reelected in 2020.

lionheart · 23/03/2017 16:43

How does he make a standard statement of concern sound as if Theresa May has had a heart attack and is in intensive care?

Cherrypi · 23/03/2017 16:44

Ah thanks Lweji. So it shouldn't have a make this a monthly donation tick box then really should it hmm.

MrsT2007 · 23/03/2017 16:50

Getting my hackles raised by Katie Twatting Hopkins' writings in the Daily Heil.

Then I remembers she needs the cash as she's owed rather a large legal bill and smile smugly

AcrossthePond55 · 23/03/2017 16:56

Lweji, one of those young men was a 'hometown hero' around here. A lovely young man.

As far as donations, politicians get around the limits by having supporters donate the maximum to PACs and superPACs who in turn spend the money 'independently' to support a candidate.

Roussette · 23/03/2017 17:30

AcrossthePond

Totally agree. And what about the policeman who actually did try and stop the attacker and lost his life in the process.

The question is no longer what can be uncovered. It's who and what can be controlled, and how. Bishop to queen's knight two.

Is Spicer always so monotoned? I've only really watched the questions bit of the press conferences before. Also, has his flag pin been confiscated since he was "in distress"?

MrsT2007 · 23/03/2017 17:50

Rogue Potus staff has been discredited I think?

Interesting though....

Lweji · 23/03/2017 17:57

Is Spicer always so monotoned?

Sometimes he laughs. Other times he loses it and stutters. Mostly when he's speaking bollocks. It's quite amusing.

Spicer also doing line-by-line critique of Obama’s letter on ACA anniversary.

Guess that’s one strategy: When things go wrong, attack Obama

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 23/03/2017 18:00

Yes sorry, forgot to add the standard disclaimer that it's an unverified account (rogue POTUS staff)

TrueBlueDem · 23/03/2017 18:04

annandale- no he will not. Impeachment coming soon.

TrueBlueDem · 23/03/2017 18:05

Acrossthepond, as a fellow American, I completely agree with what you said.

I'm glad everyone understood where I came from with my post!

The thing is, Trump's fanbase is very big on "'Merica, Fuck Yeah!! USA #1!! USA #1!!" etc and it drives me mad. And Trump's overuse of 'superlatives' only feeds their 'Merica FIRST!' mentality. Whether they like it or not the Earth is now a 'global community' and we need to see each other as equals.

Yes, the US is a wonderful country. I feel lucky to be an American (despite the current madness). But there are many, many countries just as good (or better) and each of their citizens has just as much a right to feel proud to be from that country. We aren't any better than anyone else and we need to get over ourselves!

So, in closing I say ", fuck yeah!".

TrueBlueDem · 23/03/2017 18:28

It's coming...

TrueBlueDem · 23/03/2017 18:30

Acrossthepond, yea what you mean is Trump appeals to the low information voters, to put it nicely. Thankfully the majority of us do not think like them.

GingerIvy · 23/03/2017 18:34

Across Yes, I agree. Sadly, however, some are also of the "fuck the poor and the immigrants" mentality. I'm related to one such American, and I know a few others. Hmm
