Is it a cult?

What the hell is it?

Someone "normal" on my FB is evangelical about it like they have been totally brainwashed.

Is it really this amazing "opportunity" and "dream" or is it a load of old bollocks - it's just overpriced mascara isn't it?

She did a "crying with joy" product opening too! Can't believe they all fall for this shit!

It is actually a cult.

Timeless Vie on fb campaigns against MLMs, quite eye opening how these selling schemes operate. Some articles on there from ex bots about their experiences, I think it's awful. Luckily none of my Facebook friends have been suckered in so don't get any of the Younique etc "inspirational" bollocks!

Agreed crowd
It's a cult.

Made me wary: the "girls night" that turned into a hard sell.

Makes me sad: the friend who lost her job and is now teleselling some meal box nightmare.

PCDC · 14/03/2017 20:28

Does anyone know if Utility Warehouse is an MLM please? I have a friend who seems very full-on about it. Any experiences?

TheCuriousOwl · 14/03/2017 21:23

UW isn't MLM because the reps don't have to pay anything.

They earn commission and then the people up the line do too- but they don't have to pay out for products and they are actually selling a regulated service, so it's not like they can make spurious claims about the services they are selling (because it's quite possible to find out about gas and LX prices and phone etc).

They can be quite a hard sell though and want to sign you up as distributors cos then they get money for however many people you sign up! I've got a mate who does it and he's banned from trying to recruit me, haha. However I do get my utilities with them because it WAS a better deal and I now pay much less per month and use their cashback card. For me it works. For others it doesn't. Depends what services you use and if you shop at any of the cashback places.

PCDC I had a very pushy friend who did UW, although I'm sure she said she paid for it.. she used to refer to it as "our business" which irritated me irrationally 😂

raspberrysuicide · 14/03/2017 22:10

I have a friend who does actiderm wraps and make up and weight loss etc.
She does about 3 live Facebook videos a day of her putting make up on badly and putting in bulk orders and all that crap with about 20 # mumpreneur #lovemylife

Crowdblundering · 14/03/2017 22:30

Thinking about it I think the same friend did wraps and slimming pills a while back.

A lovely mum of 2 on my Fb friends has just joined them, and every day its posts of new products etc. I felt quite embarrassed for her when she was posting how their foundation is so much better than MAC, er, no, it;s really not!
