To think Louisa Johnson's set on Comic Relief was highly inappropriate?

Comic Relief Lets's Sing and Dance tonight. Nice family viewing.

Except that they had Louisa Johnson on promoting her new single. She and her dancers are all very young, dressed in tiny skimpy shorts, singing about bad behaviour and dancing about with teddy bears. It also started with her lying on a bed full of sweets.

It left me feeling highly uncomfortable. I don't have an issue with women wearing what they feel comfortable in but the whole thing seemed to smack of some sort of advert for sex with young girls.

I assume she was thrilled to be on TV, getting paid or not

I always work on the basis that any participants in these charity things are there solely for exposure/to be seen doing the right thing. I don't think I've ever assumed it was because they care deeply about the charity.

Flyingsaucers

No-one mentioned you daughter's/friends/niece's/X factor-favourite's personality or work ethic It was her questionable clothes and the suggestion of paedophilia imagery that was concerning people.

Performing for charity, though, isn't an excellent way of getting publicity for yourself.

is and excellent way of getting publicity for yourself, and appearing morally unassailable

I agree it was pretty unedifying. I was also a bit Hmm about Amanda Holden crowbarring in a full plug for her show at the end of the interview. Charity my arse.

skerrywind · 24/03/2017 21:43

I have just watched two hours of the show.

I don;t think I have ever seen so much crap TV in my life.

ScarletFever · 24/03/2017 22:01

TinklyLittleLaugh · 24/03/2017 22:27

Come on FlyingSaucers was being ironic surely. No one is that thick.

Madeyemoodysmum · 25/03/2017 07:34

Just watched it. Agree. Why the sweets and teddies but tbh. I don't have an issue with the clothes. They were just normal shorts and not low cut at all.
