To think bacon and cheese make most things better?

Just that really, I really love cheese 🧀

Don't have much in the fridge so chucked a salad together, spicy chicken, chilli halloumi and really crispy bacon. It's so good.

Should have added some Parmesan too...
I also have a nice glass of freezing cold wine to go with it.

I had a bacon and melted cheese sandwich yesterday, omg I could've eaten another. To die for

gunsandbanjos · 09/03/2017 20:26

That spray cake is interesting! Laughed at the idea though that it would help with weight management- as you could just make one cupcake then pop the can back in the fridge Confused
As if you wouldn't just be spraying directly into your mouth...

I'm seriously into cheese toasties at the moment. So far I've come up with cheese and jalapeño, cheese and sundried tomatoes. Dare I add bacon into the mix for a sublime experience?

I don't know why but toasties with a side helping of coleslaw for lunch is just yum.

Crispy streaky bacon is the food of the gods for sure.

RiversrunWoodville · 09/03/2017 21:13

Damn this thread I am now going to have a bacon and melty cheese toasty with cranberry sauce

gunsandbanjos · 09/03/2017 21:21

Cheese and pickle is surely a classic toastie filling bambam?

Bacon is amazing. Melted cheese has to be one of the finest things on earth. Was eating leftover lasagne tonight and ds1 was moaning about the top layer being yuck so I ate it.that lovely crispy bubbly cheesy goodness! I want to try making a bacon lattice to the get maximum bacony taste into a sandwich.

Yanbu. Cheese just makes the world a better place. Grin

bunnylove99 · 09/03/2017 22:46

Cheese ham and pineapple toasties....mmmmm

Honeybee79 · 09/03/2017 22:46

Yanbu. I made myself a bacon sarnie with cheese and ketchup at lunchtime 😊

Bambamrubblesmum · 10/03/2017 08:54

Branston and cheese toasties are the devil's work. Hot pickle is just plain wrong. My DH loves it and has committed many atrocities in our kitchen with it. I mean baked beans and Branston! Just.wrong.

Bambamrubblesmum · 10/03/2017 08:57

So on the cheese toasties hall of fame we have:

Cheese and pickle (to keep guns happy Grin)
Cheese and pineapple
Cheese and jalapeño
Cheese and sundries tomatoes

Of course bacon can be added to all of the above Wink

Any more? Going to have a Friday cheese toasties blowout at lunchtime GrinGrin

I like cheese and very thinly sliced onion in a toasty.

gunsandbanjos · 10/03/2017 10:20

I've not had a cheese toasty in so long 😫 I love it when the cheese melts out the side and goes all crunchy. I used to save those bits for last.

Have you seen the Jamie Oliver cheese toasties with gooey cheese in the middle and crunchy crispy cheese on the outside.

Heart attack on a plate but what a way to go!

gunsandbanjos · 10/03/2017 10:53

I have, looks amazing. Would happily eat that for dinner with some chutney and a glass of wine.

I don't hate Cheese but I don't love it either

I do hate melted cheese though, so no pizza or cheese on toast either, I can manage a small piece of mature cheddar but that's it

None of us are keen on bacon either so I never buy it,

DD1 hates and detests cheese in any form

Onions though, are a different matter altogether, onions make everything taste better!

catlovingdoctor · 10/03/2017 11:27

Maybe except cardiovascular disease

Saw a MN advert mid-thread:

Read it as -

Should pocket money be linked to cheese?

A thousand times yes!!!

PurpleAlerts · 10/03/2017 11:37

Mmmm!
A cheese and bacon toastie is my absolute favourite comfort food.

SpackenDeDoich · 10/03/2017 12:37

YANBU

squizita · 11/03/2017 18:18

As DH says "I don't have cheese with everything! Sometimes I cook "avec fromage", "con queso" or I stir in some paneer. ..."Grin

squizita · 11/03/2017 18:20

Also, my guilty pleasure is melted cheap supermarket milk cheddar.

Crumbly and sharp for eating.

Mild and from a block for smooth goo (also stir in a Stilton rind to cheese sauce to double your bang! Strong cheddar would compete, mild standard cheddar or red Leicester bonds and supports).

squizita · 11/03/2017 18:22

Guns DH said he would buy me that. Because I would be powerless to say no then writhe in shame!

FineAsWeAre · 11/03/2017 19:45

Cheese and bacon makes EVERYTHING better. As does cooking everything in goose fat. Pretty sure my arteries and waistline disagree though Hmm

BeastofCraggyIsland · 11/03/2017 20:03

YANBU! There are very few things that can't be improved with the addition of cheese. I think I prefer them separately though, a bacon sandwich on soft white sliced bread or a cheese toastie with a side of coleslaw are two of my all-time favourite foods.

Sadly we realised recently that DP is lactose intolerant which has seriously curtailed my cheese intake as I can't put it in anything I cook any more 😭
