To be annoyed by the constant farting

(Lighthearted and can't even be bothered to nc)

So, I think DP may be harbouring a dead body in his gut! He bloody stinks and it's not just occasionally.

I'm sick of the house smelling like eggs, everytime I walk into a room where he's been it's almost guaranteed it will stink.

Should I just cut my losses and LTB?! Or buy an air freshener to stick to his arse Grin

Does anyone else have to suffer the near constant smell of sulphur? It's not normal is it? It genuinely really annoys me though.

They also say to give natural yogurt to windy dogs to calm the odour down. I don't know how true it is in people but worth a go Grin

Really though, leaving the person you love because their fart doesn't smell nice?

Sometimes I think I should leave myself and do DH a favour! God knows how he can pretend it's not there. My DDs are not quite so polite...and I got the blame even when it was the dog!

I think it's a menopausal side effect - constant, uncontrollable and noxious. And I eat well - no over doing the fruit and veg, no spicy foods, never drink fizzy drinks, very little wheat products.

Don't whatever you do travel to Malawi - they are deciding whether to include a farting ban in public within their Pollution Bill

Public Farting in Malawi offence

I'm glad I'm not the only one having to deal with smelly farts(even though the majority of complaints seem to be from dog owners Grin)

Poor DP, I showed him this thread and after having a good chuckle we went shopping and bought some natural yoghurt and I'll be popping into holland and Barretts this week to have a look for something.

I agree though, I think he needs to figure out what food is doing it as he's been having tummy troubles since I've known him so there's clearly something going on.

Oh and daisychain I'll be sure to ward him off Malawi if he ever gets the urge to visit Grin

Definitely try activated charcoal, it's brilliant! Also probiotics - get the capsules, the majority of bacteria in yoghurt are killed by your digestive process before they reach your gut.

I have IBS and certain foods are terrible. Different people have different triggers, but spicy foods, lentils and beans, fruit, anything sugary, certain veg - for me it's aubergines, peppers, potatoes with skins on - are all very common culprits. Yogurt is good, but an industrial strength probiotic (like this www.amazon.co.uk/d/qid/OptiBac-Probiotics-For-Every-Day-180-capsules/B00GY8E05I/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1488911958&sr=8-3&keywords=optibac&tag=mumsnetforum-21) is better. Having really stinky farts all the time is a sign that something is wrong in his gut.

Adarajames · 07/03/2017 19:08

Actually sorting dog farts usually means a diet change too, switched to raw feeding mine and only time ever get smelly farts from them is if unwell, so no need to suffer from dogs or partners gas issues!
