To be heartbroken at yet ANOTHER fave product being discontinued?

InMemoryOfSleep · 05/03/2017 09:14

I have just discovered Thorntons have discontinued their strawberry fondant chocolate pigs, and I am quite frankly devastated. These have been my fave little treat since I was about 12, and now they are no more!

It's the latest in a long line of favourite products being discontinued - does anyone else get unreasonably irritated by this?! I'll start a list, feel free to add to it...

  • Thorntons strawberry fondant pigs (sob)
  • Benefit 'So Hooked on Carmella' perfume
  • Lush Aqua Mirabilis (my thighs will never be the same again)

Mrs Peeks Xmas pudding

BretonRose · 05/03/2017 11:33

M&S Swiss Pies- a little pork pie with a layer of pate.

Texan bars- so chewy and lovely.

Rancheros crips- perfect complement to a Texan bar.

Body shop used to do a facial scrub - I'm sure it was white/blue in colour and called something like Japanese scrub or something. It was great.

this chocolate sauce you put on ice cream and it solidified into a lovely crispy chocolate topping....a bit like ice on top of a mountain....think it might have been ice magic? Came in bottles shaped like mountains and nice selection of flavours.....miss it!

I remember Amazing Raisin bars, and Aztec ! Cremona foam ca still be found, but it is called Krakatoa now. There is a sweetie shop called Bains in Edinburgh that sells stuff on line.
Loved Spangles too

MrsRhubarb · 05/03/2017 11:41

Sara Lee Danish. Used to be in the freezer section at Safeway when I was a teenager, and I LOVED them.

Sensi by Giorgio Armani. I have a tiny drop left in the bottom of a bottle from about 15 years ago, I can't bring myself to get rid of it.

In the early 80s M&S did a thing called Suffolk Hotpot - it was pieces of ham in a gorgeous creamy sauce, with thinly sliced potatoes on top that went crispy in the oven. My DM was a terrible cook but would buy this for dinner once a week and it was the best thing imaginable. No one else remembers it and it probably wasn't even that special but as a teenager in the 80s with a mum who couldn't cook, it was like bloody nectar.

StylishDuck · 05/03/2017 11:43

You can still get Cadburys pretzels. Though given cadburys chocolate is shit now they're probably not the same.

I still mourn the loss of the brown milky ways. A lot of people claim not to remember them when I mention them. I'm only in my early 30s, it wasn't that long ago!

SummerHouse · 05/03/2017 11:45

Tesco chicken tikka slice. I still miss you after over 20 years...

purpleporpoise · 05/03/2017 11:46

And Cherry Garcia!

MumBod · 05/03/2017 11:47

Benefit Georgia face powder.

OutOfBlueComesGreen · 05/03/2017 11:47

Proper Matey bubble bath. It's not the same today.

Jaxhog · 05/03/2017 11:47

So many things: The whole Prescriptives range, various Clinique products, Champneys' citrus glow shower gel, Thornton's diabetic caramel chocolates etc. etc. It's the worst thing about getting older.

I also miss Cherry Garcia frozen yoghurt. RIP.

bakedbeansandtuna · 05/03/2017 11:48

burger king chicken flamer

starbucks ginger muffin

M and S count on us chargrilled veg wrap, I loved it.

Aebj · 05/03/2017 11:48

Loved pacers 😃
I'm so glad someone remembered the name of them as I was racking my brain !!!

QueenArseClangers · 05/03/2017 11:49

You can still get Gordon Morre's red toothpaste, and Bournvita hot chocolate!

bastedyoungturkey · 05/03/2017 11:51

Also Impulse o2 body spray. I loved that smell.

And phish food hair products did a brilliant curl spray. They're all 'salt sprays' nowadays and they make my hair really sticky but this phish food one was lovely and smelt really nice too.

RockyBird · 05/03/2017 11:51

Burton's Puffs Sad

RockyBird · 05/03/2017 11:52

I didn't even realise Cherry Garcia was gone until this thread. Very Sad

expatinscotland · 05/03/2017 11:52

Laura Mercier Just Lips lipstick

RhodaBorrocks · 05/03/2017 11:53

Bournville Old Jamaica (Maya Gold is an expensive and subpar substitute)
Barbara Daly Powder Foundation (nothing else comes close or lasts as long)
Pyramints (nuff said)
Pret's Tuna Niçoise Sandwich - sometimes a boxed salad just isn't practical, and doesn't include granary bready goodness)

ijustwannadance · 05/03/2017 11:54

I am currently in a panic over the apparent disappearance of comfort tropical burst from the shelves of every local supermarket. (yes, I have actually looked!) Even wilko has none. I have a massive issue with smells and I have loved this one for years. All the others are vile. I have even considered paying for amazon prime and ordering a huge box of it from amazon pantry, but the bastards would probably send an 'alternative'.

I bought morrisons own brand tropical fabric conditioner in a panic. It's like buying mega bloks instead of lego. Sad

Sparklingbrook · 05/03/2017 11:55

Texan bars were revolting. Confused Dog chocolate wrapped around a tooth pulling lump of something or other. Bleurgh.

BretonRose · 05/03/2017 11:56

And sweet corn relish flavor Skips.
