To stop selling on eBay

Because they're just geared to protect the buyer.

Just had to swallow a fairly big (to me) loss as eBay always give in to the sodding purchaser. Their claim was bullshit.

Another item didn't arrive. I had proof of postage; yet it's down to me to refund them chase Royal Mail. Fucks sake.

Yes that's brill garden.

I've always been a bit wary of selling but that's a great way to protect yourself.

I sell a lot (2500 feedback stars) but after many dodgy buyers claiming things didn't arrive I now only post Recorded Delivery, unless it's something worth under a fiver.

I would rather lose potential buyers who don't want to pay the extra than deal with dishonest tossers who probably make claims all the time. I agree that ebay are totally biased towards the buyer but for the sort of stuff I sell (new high end beauty products) I don't really have an alternative place to list.

Garden..... with the greatest respect, apart from maybe putting off a would be scammer, a video of the condition of the item won't make any difference if a buyer perseveres with making a claim. EBay certainly won't count it as proof that the item was in the condition shown when it arrived with the buyer......

1 - it could have been damaged in transit.

2 - what's to stop you filming the nice item in perfect condition then sending another one, in poor condition, as claimed by the buyer.

As I said, if a buyer makes an initial claim, showing them the video may put them off taking it further, so a good idea in that respect, but it they got EBay involved, it certainly wouldn't guarantee you would win the dispute.
