To wonder how on earth Katy Perry made it?

She is truly crap. I saw something on tv recently where she was live and it was shocking how bad she actually was. I know there are other who are like her and who still made it but I can't find anything redeeming about her. Even with auto tune she still sounds bad. Or maybe I am just a bitch Confused Is anyone else as baffled as me?

She will be auto tuned for big arena concerts.
I saw her years ago when she just started on a small side stage at a festival.
It was cringy.

She may write great songs and be an amazing performer but she really couldn't sing.

Funnily enough, I was having this same thought about the Bee Gees the other day. I thought, here I am struggling to find a job, struggling to raise a family on my own, and yet in the 1970s a bunch of blokes with beards were able to found a multi million pound empire on the ability to sqwark 'ah ah ah ah staying alive, staying alive' in a very irritating high pitched and repetitive manner. I guess context is everything.

Music for people who aren't that fussed about music. She's,better than A. Coldplay b. The Lighthouse Family for use of novelty bras if nothing else. She does do Pop Art Tits quite well.

Wouldn't get further than the alley down the side of the station without the make-up and styling tho.

I thought she was terrible at The Brits. We've been watching The Voice recently, and some of the singers on there have been absolutely note perfect but haven't had a break - sadly most artists today rely on auto-tune and it's so hard to work out who has a good voice and who doesn't. Worst concert I ever went to was Elton John when he did an orchestral tour....his voice was weak, had no depth and he was completely out of sync with the large orchestra behind him. We paid £150 each for the tickets and people were just sat open mouthed looking at each other as if to say WTF..... it was later announced that there had been technical issues. -Like the auto tune wasn't working-.

I'll tell you who is a shit singer. Cheryl Tweedy-Cole-Fernandez-Versini-Thingy. Does anyone remember her performance at the Jubilee concert outside Buckingham Palace in 2012? Absolute rubbish, she was so out of tune. Gary Barlow sucked too.

Can take or leave KP. Our local morning DH has a running joke about her being idle and always on holiday - he's been surprised at he recently releasing a new song.

Little Mix make my ears bleed, my neighbour's girls sing their songs constantly
To me LM sound so out of tune, like Friday night karaoke
I hate their image and the messages in their songs ... 'Shout out to my ex' is so awful - have a bit of self respect Ms Edwards Hmm

Being note-perfect isn't necessarily entertaining though.. we can't have everyone who is note perfect as a famous singer. Good to remember that the voice won't exactly be unaltered footage either.

I really quite like her but she is a terrible live singer. Good songs though (not sure if she writes them).

Madonna (as another poster mentioned) is also a terrible live singer but similarly puts out some good songs.

I also thought she was good on the Brits looked good, cool set design and song not too bad. I have low expectations on her singing voice but she came across just fine to me and agree with pps it's not always about the quality of the voice.
