I've made myself watch it a few times, in an if you can't beat em join em kind of way but I never laugh. Ever.
It leaves me cold.
What's wrong with me? Shock

I love Ant & Dec in everything else, but not this.

Well I'm shouldering with the ant & Dec lovers. I wouldn't choose to watch it on my own as an adult, but as something that works for family viewing it's great. And I did genuinely laugh a lot when Scarlet shouted "Does anybody recognise that lamppost?"

I like watching plenty of other stuff that I wouldn't dream of letting my kids anywhere near including serious and arty films and documentaries etc but once in a while it's nice to let your inhibitions go and just have some corny fun that takes your mind off things - like panto.

And they are very good at what they do, and there is a skill to it.

Did anyone else think though that the woman who won the ads gave the game away by saying that she'd been studying the news? Ant was very careful to say several times that she'd been preparing herself just on the off chance she got picked pmsl. Grin

Win The Ads questions have always been based on the previous week's news.
You'll presumably get your tickets for the audience a few weeks before so you know that you're going to be there on telly.
Makes perfect sense to me to swot up on the news and current affairs "just in case!" Smile

grilledaubergines I meant put up with as a general 'family' offering to us all, not me personally.

I know someone who met Ant or Dec at a private summer do, he was a right miserable git.

I watched it for the first time last night and wasn't impressed. My 6yo was quite entertained though. I gave up half way through and went to wash the dishes.

I would rather stick pins in my eyes than watch any Saturday night telly

Usually Ant and Dec have me in stitches.
But there's something about the format of this show that isn't 'them' somehow.

Much better then endless X factor, voice, dance like no-ones watching, sing like a superstar etc etc drivel.

I don't watch any of those either. My friends think I'm strange.

I think that as grown adults, they're the strange ones.

Libitina I don't watch those either. It doesn't half get me some strange looks when people start to talk about these shows and I have no idea what they're talking about Grin

I hate Saturday night TV... It's not like the old days of Noel's house party, Blind Date, the Gladiators...Those were the days..

People saying it's a fix re the couple who flew on the helicopter, if it was a fix then the lady surely would not be as nervous and would be prepared a bit better?

The Jamie thing was weird as he didn't seem to laugh watching it back, I also think he saw ant and Dec when they were lined up for a photo with all the staff. How could he have not have seen them 2 stood up with the placards?

Every time I see Ant and Dec, I feel my IQ drop a few points Grin Saturday night 'family viewing' is shockingly bad.

I don't think it was a fix, I think no one was waving that they could see in the time Frame and they picked any old house

I must be in the minority but I like the show, the format & A&D. In the 80's we had Larry Grayson & Paul Daniels, which was shite, followed by what seemed like an eternity of Noel Edmonds shite. I think it's a vast improvement on the cack that used to be pedalled out as family entertainment.

It was never THAT good. Only watch because we have school age children and it's suitable for them. But this weeks episode was so incredibly poor, it was cringeworthy. Won't be watching again.

Although these threads saying 'I just don't get it, what am I missing' are a little odd. People like different things - it really isn't a case of 'missing something' if you don't.

Never seen it because the minute I see Ant and Dec on screen I have to change the channel - cringe.

Littlepig totally agree with everything you say. I do like Ant and Dec but not in this, it is contrived and forced with lots of whooping and hollering. I didn't watch it on Saturday but I presume it was the same as previous years?

Did they dress up with make up etc and try and fool a sleb? If so, that bit was always pathetic as it was so obvious that said sleb knew exactly who they were and just played along.

Hate this programme and thank god we have got an OFF button!

p.s. Scarlett M is v irritating so extra glad I didn't attempt to watch on Saturday!

Meh we love it. My kids grew up watching this as I did morcombe and wise. It's good family entertainment. My youngest dd 17 and her boyfriend still love it.

Tons more fun than endless bloody depressing soaps.

they picked any old house

I wonder what theyd do if someone said
piss off! I`m not coming with you

Now that would be funny.

But it is really family viewing isn't it? It's OTT and fun and parents can relax with a few glasses and watch with the kids or aunty Mabel knowing it's safe fun viewing.

You can't do that with much on tv now can you.
