To think I have grey coloured eyes and not blue (pic included)

They're not blue. They're grey.

Everyone my entire life has said they're blue but they're clearly not. I'm not colour blind. There's no blue in them at all.

I'd love to have beautiful blue eyes but I don't. Anyway, I'm right aren't I? I have completely grey eyes and I'm not being unreasonable to be annoyed when people say they're blue am I?

Blue. Even more so the second one!

MimiTheWonderGoat · 21/02/2017 01:00

I think mine are grey but they reflect blues so look very blue outside when there's blue sky or if I wear blue. So, I guess they look blue to a lot of people. They look bright blue in photos where I'm in natural light but grey if it's artificial.

reuset · 21/02/2017 01:00

They're blue grey to me, though they look more grey in first photo.

Poster was asking about their eye colour a few days ago, posted a close up picture of one eye, then scarpered. Also blue grey. Wasn't you was it?

AbernathysFringe · 21/02/2017 01:03

They're like my daughter's. Probably if you're standing anywhere with any blue around, including sky, they reflect and look blue. Inside, with no blue carpet or walls etc, the grey is easy to see.

reuset · 21/02/2017 01:03

They're not strikingly blue at all (nothing wrong with them at all though). I have the very pale watery blue eyes, obviously there's darker blue but I don't think yours are entirely.

glitterazi · 21/02/2017 01:10

It's like that whole " is this dress gold or blue?!" ridiculousness that did the rounds a while back. Smile
From what I can remember it all hinges on what light you are seeing said eyes in in the first place.

reuset · 21/02/2017 01:14

I had to google too. The black eyes/iris are very striking, loup!

BananaInPyjama · 21/02/2017 01:20

I have this colour eyes and never knew what to call them as they change (tiredness, mood, clothes.light etc).

Apparently they are grey and they do change a lot in different situations, so sometimes they will look blue or green or grey!

Italiangreyhound · 21/02/2017 01:24

OP I'd say grey or rather (personally I think) grey green - but I'd also say they are beautiful eyes. So you are being unreasonable to say "I'd love to have beautiful blue eyes but I don't."

I'd say... WRONG! Your eyes are lovely.

TheDowagerCuntess · 21/02/2017 01:29

They're grey but there's a definite blue tone to them.

I think colour is a bit subjective personally, so if people see blue, then they see blue - there's not much you can do about it!

They're a lovely colour, regardless.

Lucked · 21/02/2017 01:33

I am with the previous poster that thinks a lot of people consider all eyes to be a variant of blue, green or brown and so when asked they say the closet category. There have been previous posts by frustrated Hazel eyed mumsneters.

KickAssAngel · 21/02/2017 01:33

I'm another one with predominantly grey eyes which constantly get called blue.

They do look blue in certain lights, particularly if I wear black eyeliner, but if looking directly at them in a mirror, they really are grey. But all my med records etc have them down as blue.

Araminta99 · 21/02/2017 01:51

What lovely eyes. My grandmother had grey eyes; no blue in them. On her records they were down as blue though, apparently there was no category for grey eyes as they come under the blue category.

Spring2016 · 21/02/2017 01:54

Grey...I have grey eyes too.

Huldra · 21/02/2017 06:53

The light will probably affect how they look, to me they are grey / blue tint.

No one can decide my eye colour either. They're grey, but blue or green tint, flecks of yellow and dark ring. My skin and hair can't decide what they wan to be either.
