To be clear, that means I even married one (a nice man). Not that I went out with a nice married man.

Pollyanna9 · 20/02/2017 13:34

Secretsquirrel252 I don't think I said I was looking for someone who looks intimidating to others, I just reported that clearly some men clearly found this particular partner intimidating - I can't help their reaction obviously.

But as others too have said there is this element of hoping that in a particular situation that actually warranted it, they could physically take care of a situation. That's different to wanting someone who intimidates others just by walking down a street minding their own business - in fact I don't want someone like that who invokes that reaction without doing anything nor do I want someone who goes out of their way to be intimidating on purpose either!

Chirrup5 · 20/02/2017 13:37

Just had to google Sebastian Chabal bloody hell my DH looks just like him but a bit less beardy Shock

TedEriksen · 20/02/2017 13:38

One of my friends would only ever go for 'bastards' ("I don't like 'nice' men" she'd say). It became very exhausting to deal with the fallout when these guys acted the way they were always going to, and I eventually lost every ounce of sympathy.

TimeforANewTwatName · 20/02/2017 13:39

Oh i've had the fanny gallops before.
It's like there's a magnet in your fanny, so strong for other person, it almost aches!

luckly i'm not in the slightest bit drawn to dangerous, intimidating looking blokes, though. Grin

TheFullMrexit · 20/02/2017 13:40

I come from a family of thick necked ape , literally like gorillas. Short too. I prefer tall normal men without any great silver back resemblance.

myoriginal3 · 20/02/2017 13:42

I'm with the pp on the high viz vest, hard hat and dusty rigger boots...... He's off at work now. In said gear.

Rigger boots remain outside due to odour.....

TopBitchoftheWitches · 20/02/2017 13:46

There is something about him walking in wearing that high viz that causes fanny gallops.

I may have worn during a certain occasion once or twice. Grin

MouseClogs · 20/02/2017 13:48

I've had things for bastards in the past but not of the same mould as described by a PP.

For one thing (and I have no idea why this is, how odd it is or indeed whether it's odd at all) I am virtually never attracted to men more than about 5'9 in height (same height as me). I have no idea why, I just find tall men less inherently sexual. Same tends to go for men below about 5'5 though so maybe it's a question of difference in height/scale from me being the turn-off?

A large proportion of my guilty "I shouldn't have a thing for him" type fanny-gallop animalistic crushes have been on men that were 20-30 years older than me, foul-tempered but wet/a bit of a coward Blush

Maybe something went wrong with me in the womb? I am quite a dominant character in general, perhaps my vagina just cottoned on that a drip better suits my purposes?

TheFullMrexit · 20/02/2017 13:48

Ted I had one of those too.

Hilarious, what an awful combo Grin would Corybn do it for you?

Jaysis · 20/02/2017 13:49

I've said it before on here, but Aiden Turner gives me right old fanny gallops. I'd ride him like Seabiscuit so I would.

MouseClogs · 20/02/2017 13:55

TheFullMrexit GrinGrinGrin oddly enough he doesn't float my boat at all. Hard to sum my perfect "type" actually. Perhaps a weird hybrid of Littlefinger from Game of Thrones, Steve Coogan past his sell by and Mark Bonnar, with a tendency to cry at adverts thrown into the mix.

I have my crosses to bear in life, to be sure, but I'd be inclined to say that this isn't one of them. You do get less trouble from a grumpy old wet blanket than a bastard.

MouseClogs · 20/02/2017 13:56

Also everyone thinking you're miles out of their league is a nice bonus Blush

LoupGarou · 20/02/2017 14:12

DH has what he calls a man crush on Sebastian Chabal Grin.

LoupGarou · 20/02/2017 14:16

MouseClogs I agree with the 20-30 years older but you're welcome to keep the grumpy coward/drip bit Grin. I am also quite a dominant character and very strong willed, but find men more strong willed than me attractive.

NeverNic · 22/02/2017 22:19

Pretty, effeminate looking boys don't do it for me. I don't want to mother anyone. I do like the burly types and married a rugby player. Nothing to do with wanting a double hard b£%%^& as a husband. I just like them on the chunky side!
