To not cut my daughter's hair

Dd is 4 and has shoulder length hair. She has never liked having her hair washed or brushed and even though I try to tie it back out of her face any style last minutes before she's pulled it out and her hair is all over the place. Recently she's been asking to have it cut short "like daddy" or "like a boy". I wouldn't mind her having short hair if she likes it but I'm worried she'll get it cut then not like it and it's not so easy to go back.
Does anyone have any experience of this?

I have thin hair and have it short. It actually makes it look rhicker

Some hair dressers just dint feel confident doing certain hairstyles on certain hairtypes. Let her have it cut short.

My dd has had a bob and bum length hair. The rule is that its ger hair = her choice. If she regrets it, she regrets it.

Oh Amys your dd's hair is beautiful. I would not cut my hair if it was as lovely as that.

I love dd's hair now. It is very easy to deal with. It usually looks lovely when she wakes up so just needs a quick brush. And yes to making her hair look thicker and it's a lot healthier. If she wants to grow it though I will let her. It's her hair after all.

Thank you all! I find that washing it in kids shampoo actually makes it luggier! I've resorted to using adult shampoo on it Blush
