What do you get irrationally annoyed about?

I have been smiling to myself at 'am I being unreasonable to want to go to the BBC HQ and bite someone' and 'am I being unreasonable to be Homicidal with Rage about ...' threads

I am generally a chilled person ... I can't get myself worked up about parent and toddler car parking threads for example ...
And laughed till I cried over the 'grapes' thread years ago on Mumsnet ...

BUT: When I help my children do a jigsaw puzzle and find at the end that there is a piece missing I get soooooooooooooo irrationally angry that I want to chuck a chair out of the window ....
Obviously I don't ... as I am a 'nice mummy' and I would scare my children. But inside I am screaming "Where is that faaaaaarrrrrking jigsaw piece????????"
I have to go and take deep breaths and calm down or have a gin
I am the same with lost shoes.
And if someone parks their car on the pavement on the way to school and I have to push the buggy out onto the road to get past I have to suppress an urge to run my keys down the side of that car

So, what silly thing do you get irrationally cross about????

OP posts:

People who waddle along in the middle of the pavement at 2 miles an hour, lurching from side to side so you can't get round them.

Oh, and people who say 'it's a mute point' - aaaaaargh!!!!

wheresmysuntan · 03/05/2007 13:58

I get irrationally cross when I see 'separate' spelled 'seperate' and 'there' used when it should be 'their'.
Also:-
Selfish morons who park on the pavement
People who drop litter - particularly those who throw it out of cars
Cat crap in my garden when I don't own a cat and it is MY garden NOT a public space.

DanielAndOmi · 03/05/2007 13:59

yes, hate hate HATE 'mute point'. If it was mute you wouldn't be able to hear it!!

GColdtimer · 03/05/2007 14:07

I was having a bad day and this has made me laugh so much. Problem is, I agree with so many.

Right, people who get up to leave literally (correctly used I think) the second the credits start to roll at the cinema. Its like they have been anxiously awaiting the end of the film.

People who park in disabled spaces who aren't disabled.

The fact shoe shops never stock a size 3 and a half.

Middle land hoggers make me soooo mad.

The women in town the other day who loudly referred to her bump as "this little f**r". (although I don't think that was irrational or even just irritating).

themoon66 · 03/05/2007 14:20

This is brillant... I agree with everyone.

IcingOnTheCake · 03/05/2007 14:20

anyone who parks on double yellow lines, even disabled people. the lines are there because it either causes a hazard you parking there or it causes conjestion or both!

OrmIrian · 03/05/2007 14:30

Losing things make me mad. Anything really but especially keys and glasses.

Stupid inanimate objects that insist on breaking, falling down or getting themselves lost when I'm really really late/busy and they really should no beter

You did say irrational didn't you?

Actually anything causing me to be late generally. I hate being late. I'm working on it as it doesn't fit with my increasingly laidback persona.

LoveMyGirls · 03/05/2007 14:31

Stickiness and i've lost my bank card

lucyellensmum · 03/05/2007 14:33

at the moment, just about everything!!!!!!!!!!

marieg76 · 03/05/2007 16:55

when people (by "people", I mean DH ) put dirty plates, glasses, cups etc BY the dishwasher but not in it! Why can then get so farking close but not make that last say, 10 inches to the actual dishwasher. See also plates near to the sink

wheresmysuntan · 03/05/2007 17:10

Oh God Marieg - I couldn't agree more about the dishwasher thing - it drives me mad. The same culprit also leaves empty plastic milk containers in the sink rather than rinse them out and throw in recycling bin which is all of 2 yards from the sink

Another driving one - old men in caps who seem incapable of sticking to their lane when navigating roundabouts !!

love this thread! I've thought of loads while I've been reading...

  1. odd socks and sorting out small items in laundry eg: knickers, baby vests, bibs - 'literally' has made me cry - I hate it!
  1. Repetative noises of any kind make me seeth, sweat, swear, my heart starts pounding and I get REALLY mad eg: phones ringing (always happens in Next I find, the staff never seem to answer the phone), dogs barking, car alarms, house alarms, small children, people tapping, squeeky windscreen wipers...the list goes on and on...
  1. sniffing!! ARGH - hate people sniffing - blow your fuckin nose!!
  1. this is a recent one - i keep seeing women in gym or circuit class chewing while exercising - really bugs me - feel like they are not taking it seriously enough - lol!
  1. sulking - anyone sulking or being moody on a night out - just cos you're in a bad mood don't ruin it for everyone else - cheer up or don't come out in the first place!

i could go on and on but my little girl is moaning and crying in her sleep - it's those repetative noises again....am going to smother her with a pillow....(joke!)

powder28 · 05/05/2007 16:58

People not leaving you feedback on ebay when you have left it for them!

Marshy · 05/05/2007 21:05

Haven't posted for ages but this has got me going!
Loud crappy music in shops used to drive me close to a murderous rage when i was a sleep-deprived mother of babies. Still don't like it. Christmas carols in October should obviously be illegal.
Really laughed at IdrisTheDragon's post re pants in trousers - not just my dh who's a bit of a slob then. He also puts shirts in wash basket with buttons still fastened and t-shirt still inside, if he's been wearing one. Drives me mad as i stand in front of washing machine fiddling with his smelly garments, but at least he uses the wash basket, i suppose (and sometimes does the washing) Must start leaving my knickers in my tights, then he'll learn!
